It does not really matter.

i hate the word as it is.

A girl may have boyfriends at school she slept with and at college / university.

a 24 yr old starting sex at 16, could have had sex once each year with a different partner, total say 9 times.

Alternatively a girl may have had 2 long term bfs and had sex 1000’s times with each.

neither is wrong, however people will condemn the first one.

if a guy did it, he may even be mocked for only doing it 9 times, or called a stud.

There isn't a "too high" you get to choose not much sex you want. Don't be concerned about what others think of you. If they shame you because you choose to have a lot of partners, that's their issue not yours.

The most important thing is that you own your choices and that you're happy with them.

Second, things might happen where you find yourself getting laid a lot as life happens and people and situations change.
