A handjob is a lot of direct stimulation and it is someone else doing it, so he can't control the "tempo". Unless he is telling you when to back off or lighten up, he doesn't have any control of the amount of stimulation. Five minutes actually seems fine. If he is telling you to back off so as not to cum, I'd imagine he'd last much longer. I've been very horny and cum in a minute from blow jobs before. I've never had a girlfriend complain.
