I’ve never really “dated” traditionally, like not in the sense of asking a woman out to dinner or something. I usually would know them through work or a mutual friend, we’d encounter each other in group settings, go to bars, house parties, etc. Sometimes we’d just kind of randomly hook up when we were drinking, other times we’d kind of just get the vibes from each other and we’d get ourselves alone eventually, but it was just never like a “I’ll pick you up at 7:00 and we’ll go to that new Italian restaurant” kind of thing. It was all “college dating”, really. Then it would either last and turn into a relationship, or it would fizzle out and run its course.

With my lady now…she started coming into the bar I was a bouncer at when she first moved to town, with her sister and her sister’s friend who went to college there already. The short version of the story is we met, kind of instantly vibed, but she was back and forth from where she was originally from because she was still moving. Plus the sister’s friend liked me and was kind of interfering in us hanging out alone, lmao. So it was like two weeks before we got alone, and we didn’t really wait much longer than that, haha

We talked for a whole month, getting to know each other. Text, phone, video chat, hung out, and then we officially started dating after that 1 month went by, so I believe it was our 3rd date. I like to tease him about it because I thought it was cute, he apologized for getting hard when he was giving me a shoulder and back massage and he thought I was about to tell him to leave.

I wouldn’t say I “waited” or that I was made to wait it happened at the right time. There is no point rushing into sex assuminng you are actually looking for a relationship at all. This just confuses the situation and compounds any issue you might discover after. I’d much rather sex when it’s anticipated and urgent with the knowledge that there is ar least an idea of a deeper connection with the woman. If it’s just about sex then we may as well be strangers and it be about sexual gratification.
