  • That depends on culture.
In Scandinavia and left wing cities in the US etc it's not at all.
In certain conservative nations and republican states, and especially certain religious communities it very much is.
Staying a virgin probably still increases your options more then having a lot of sexual experience does.
    Both have their advantages though.
And you might lose out on some great guys by insisting too hard on staying a virgin.

Personally I suggest not thinking too much about it and instead focusing on finding guys you *genuinely* can trust for your first time.
Don't make it a one night stand thing.
It's going to take a while anyway, so hopefully you'll find a good boyfriend/potential husband by then.

  • No it's an old very dated religious value.

Remember even if your not a virgin then there will still be a first time with any new people.

And body count is also a dated concept if the equipment down there does what it needs to then all is good.

  • I woul say no for me, but that's a cultural thing. For others, virinity until marriage is for somereason the biggest thing in the world.. Meanwhile I say if you're going to commit to the Bull for life you might as well sample his Man milk first so you know you won't have buyers remore! Besiedes what about home owners insuraance

  • NO but I was a virgin on my wedding night and I was 21, From our wedding memories, There was no doubt that it was his first time too. Our wedding night was a disaster, the second night we basically played show and tell and the Third night, WOW! We had it figured out.

  • No, it is not important, at least in western culture. Other places it is.

    • I don't know why it's important in Western culture, if a man asked me for a proof I'll ask him too for it 🤷🏻‍♀️

    • I said it is NOT important in western culture. That it is important in some other cultures. I would never ask for proof of virginity. I would only care if she is so that I know if she would need some help in knowing what to do.

    • Yeah

  • Not at all.

  • Yea, sluts are not wife material.

    • What if I had a long-term boyfriend ( or 2 maximum) before meeting my husband and he's the only person I had sex with, is that still slutty?

    • Not waiting until marriage and being with multiple men is slutty. Many women nowadays have a more slutty record, but it don't mean that you have a clear past.

    • Is what I said slutty or not?

  • Absolutely not, infact I would never marry a virgin, I'm not interested in an inexperienced wife. Also I need to know if we are sexually compatible before committing to marriage, not that I'm ever going to get married again anyway.

  • No, it's not. Most people marrying have had sex.

  • Definitely doesn't hurt. 95% of men would prefer young, attractive virgins if they could for a wife. If most women aren't giving them that option, it makes you instantly more desirable than them. This is why women encourage other women to sleep around, it lowers their marriage value. Women are much more catty about how they compete with other women; for men especially.

    • I love your mansplanation on women behavior. Believe it or not, there's a steady decline in women wanting marriage at all, especially in younger generations (which makes your options for the younger much less - assuming YOU have something to offer them in exchange for them being young, attractive, and virginal). This might also come as a shock to you, but women also don't truly care about what makes them 'desirable' for men. If you truly think women are like this, you've only encountered petty women and by all means, take one of those for yourself.

    • @areitan You've got a point. I'm waiting for daddy Elon to create sex bots to make an entire gender obsolete, hormonal and argumentative women. No more STD's, no abortions, no problems. Men hold all the cards to commitment but they've realized they don't have a snowball's chance in hell when marriage and kids are involved with family court. Unless women realize the value they bring comes from leaning into their femininity and not competing with men, there are no incentives worth taking there.

    • I really do hope Daddy Elon makes you a robot since that's the only woman you're worthy of. You must have been hurt pretty bad to think that women (as a gender) are responsible for every negative in your life. What you don't like is that women can make it without men, making YOU obsolete. We can earn our own money, buy our own diamonds, raise our own families. There are sperm banks, you know. WE DON'T NEED YOU! Women don't compete with men. You're not worth the effort. Besides that, we can rock femininity AND bring home the goods.

  • In some cultures, it is. In more, just be low mileage.

  • No it is not important. What is important is that you are loyal to each other

  • It is important if it matters to you whether it is important to everybody else is not important at all, you have your own moral compass

  • I guess it depends on how big they’re with their religion…some people wait till marriage because of it

    • Virginity is a myth

    • Not for the hella religious people…some take that to heart, but to each their own

  • some studies have shown that the more sexual partners a person has had in the past. the tougher it will be for them to pair bond in the future. because on a subconscious level people have been known to compare past and preset encounters. so while people don't have to be a virgin to get married. having a lower partner count can somewhat help them for long term bonding.

  • i personally think it's stupid to be virgin and get married.

  • Not really. But not having a high number probably helps.

  • No. The idea is nice that they would be your first, but many marriages also end because one is more interested in sex than the other, leading to sexual incompatibility, a dead bedroom marriage, and a lot of paperwork if not dealt with.

  • It sure is in some cultures.

  • no. it's not at all

  • Pffft No! That's a religious choice pushed on society. Almost everyone has been laid before marriage or the one they find for marriage

  • Yeah, you also have to make sure your parents have a cow and two pigs to gift your future husband.

  • I think yes

  • Obviously not.
