Is perving at the opposite sex more fun when you’re with your boys? Lone guys very seldom wolf whistle or yell nice tits out the car window.. why?

Why is active perving a group sport 🤔🤷‍♀️

Superb Opinion

  • It is just guys being childish to be honest. It is rarely a case that they are going to do something about the fact that you are attractive. Think of it like a tribal ritual. It has also to do with unleashing the dumb ass child in guys. It just makes guys feel great. Perhaps it's at the cost of making a woman feel uncomfortable but if you think of it the same way guys react to a new brand of a Ferrari passing by, or a Lamborghini, or an Aston Martin, etc, you will understand the sentiment behind the wolf whistle.

It is just a tribal thing based on an appreciation for something nice or attractive.

    • 🤷‍♀️ I appreciate the bro moment. I’m not actually one to be offended... a little embarrassed at times but I get that it’s just boys being boys.

  • Couldnt tell yeah I've never done it even in a group, my friends dont do that.

My uncle will tho how ever, he was doing it on a road trip last year, but to be fair in his defense he did have a theory, he said " when you out of town somewhere you'll never be back too you might as well try to be bold"

I'd still rather not cause it seems demeaning to women but he has a point, and I need to stop being such a nice guy so worried about what others like or would make them happy and focus on whatever makes me happy.
It just so happens coincidently I dont want to do that, but if I thought it would make me happy I should.

Most Helpful Girls

  • Part of that is showing off to your friends, to prove you have the balls to do it, and to (hopefully) get some positive reactions rather than negative ones.

  • Safety in numbers.

  • I'm not one to hoot at girls from afar. Seems rude and belligerent. But I definitely start missing girls more when I'm in a bar that only has guys in it.

    • Once I spend time in a bar with only guys for two hours and girl steps in, any girl, she seems like a diamond in a room full of shit.

    • Start to run outta stuff after a while. Arm wrestle, good times. Clash beers. Chug-chug-chug. Drinking contest. Now what? Talk about life? I don't wanna do this with guys. The mood is turning to shit. Then woman walks in -- maybe even a fattie -- and she's like a goddess. I love her already. I see the other guys also looking at her. She's mine. I'm married. Well, she's mine anyway.

    • Cute ☺️

  • Cuz it has less to do with you and more to do with ducking around with friends. It's honestly a lot less sexual then it seems. Guys just like to annoy women by being childish... Well some guys... I mean there's varying levels to that I guess

    • I feel Happy for you guys having your moment

    • Please don't group me in with catcallers lol

  • Because it's done for street cred not actually to get the girl. Most guys know they're chances are way low when they do something like that. Alone there is no point they won't get a response and no one will praise them for being funny. If a guy stands a chance he would never approach a woman with the boys around instead he'll do it solo so he won't feel any pressure from the review he'll get later

  • thats been included in the hate crime laws here in the uk but i was never one to act like that anyway... i will ofcourse look but im more likely to either try chatting her up or go home and have a good hard wank

    • "Hate crimes"? Good grief.

  • I would never behave that way, and neither would any of my friends since I was out of high school.

  • yea i would say that's accurate

  • Alone! I Dont wsnt erections with dudes

    • But that's creepy, dude. You shouldn't get an erection from that. It's supposed to be just a flirt.

  • cause they like to front for each other, its basically what it is

    • the bros just make you more confident

    • Noice

    • uh you're welcome?

  • I guess it might be a bravado thing? I know that men get obnoxious when we're in groups. None of my friends cat call. At least not around me. I have one friend who kind of comes close? Cat calling is widely regarded as an awkward or cringie thing to do by guys in my age group.

  • Its not exclusively fun thing to do, but the ones who does would feel more ballsy to do so because of his group of friends (which grants him safety, if things went sideways), and the rush of adrenaline/testosterone/desire, which ignite him to do so.

  • The men wouldn't have the courage to do it on their own, and if it's a lone wolf doing it he's probably a creep on the prowl, pre crime scouting.

  • I've never done that or even thought about it lol

  • It's not more fun, it's safer. There's a certain amount of status you get from being the one who's willing to go after the girl, even if it's in a backwards way like cat calling. But, by doing it in a group it's harder to reprimand you

    • I like the answers in this question, guys get such a hard time for this behaviour but I suspect a lot of it is about impressing each other and not much is about the chick at all... do you notice her together though n then the brave guy starts the ‘active perving’?

    • Your intuition is on to something. A lot of it is about the other guys, or some kind of status symbol. They find the chick hot but if they were by themselves they would be less likely to do it. I haven't done it myself, but in the ones I have seen one person would always notice first and point it out to the others. Then someone starts the cat calling

    • It’s cute ☺️

  • Guys are more prone to do dumb things in groups.

    • Why dat doe?

    • They're guys. Alcohol may also be a factor. I'm sure if I try to think about the dopey things I've done in my life, almost all of them probably had these things in common: 1.) I was in my late 10s to early 20s. 2.) I was with friends. 3.) I was drinking.

  • When you're being stupid, there's safety in numbers. I don't think of whistling as "pervy", it's just rude. Now if you want to talk pervy... LOL do it alone !

  • Well, I don't do it at all.

But I think if you're in a group, it might be more acceptable because she knows it's just a joke.
(Unless you're in the U. K., of course.)

  • Because most guys don't do it because they expect to get laid or to get attention from the girl, but as a social bonding thing. Hey look, we're all straight men (despite the fact that we're hanging with an all-male crew at the moment) hooting at this lone female.

    • It’s cute 🥰

  • They feel safer in numbers.
Like they are so brave on social media but wouldn't say anything to your face.
