no, it's not. i suggest reading contemporary litterature. i made the same mistake. only 10-20 years ago, there was quite a huge confirmation bias in pychology and the humanities that found "some harm" cause they were tryng to find harm. specifically i remember papers showing people violent rape pornography and then concluding that pornography causes depression xD
in actuality, there are mostly positive effects and no known negaitve effects outside of very extreme masturbation frequency.
i actually wrote a paper about this as an assignment. most "negative effects" that are associated with porn are actually not caused by porn but by depression, failing relationships and overall lack in life satisfaction. those things seem to drive up pron consumption as an expression of some things going wrong in ones life. however the porn consumption does not have an significant impact on quality of life or relationship quality or physical and mental health if accounted for various controll and dummy variables.0 2 0 0the sexually dysfunctional effects of very extreme porn consumption on a persons sex life can in almost all cases be reversed by 2-3 weeks of not consuming porn. it's a temporary oversaturation/desensitizing effect, that wears off, assuming the person has no underlying condition that is the reason for their sexual dysfunction.

The but that worries me most is that it sets a completely biased expectation in young people's minds of what sex is like. I saw some research that said kids as young as 11 are watching it regularly. With the Internet there is no escape and a few clicks and you can set up a twitter account and have porn delivered. And there is some serious hard core stuff out there.
So it's more prevalent so the impact is more. I'm not pro censorship I do however think everything in moderatoion rather than binge watching it like Netflix.0 0 0 0

good only for couples to spice up your sex life. Other than that, Too much like for men who are obsessed and end up in their own fantasy fake world with fakes. It can go way too far nowadays, like this sick sexual society.

What Girls & Guys Said
5 32It's not been my experience.
0 1 0 0I would say if men stop having regular sex with their S/O because they find more enjoyment fapping to porn then it is definitely bad in more ways then one.
1 1 0 0That's true!
I wouldn’t be surprised honestly
1 0 0 0Based on many of the answers you see here in this site, you can tell who's a porn addict, and yeah... I think it's not good for them.
As those research say, it seems like they have a distorted vision of reality. They make comments that only lead to sex in porn videos and only get girls grossed in real life.0 0 0 0If a person watches porn litteraly everyday then I'm probably going to think addiction may be involved.
Porn isn't physiologically bad on it's own, but it's when you watch so much of it when shit is gonna go south for you.0 0 0 0It depends on what we watch and why. I admit to getting a moderate lift out of it but it is also scientific curiosity. Kind of "how stuff works". What I watch and how much is harmless.
0 0 0 0I think if porn is your first/only introduction to sex and you don't have the ability to look at it critically and realize a lot of it is fake/abusive/unrealistic/etc, then yeah that could definitely be damaging to watch. If you genuinely think sex is like porn, there's a major problem
0 0 0 0Like most things in life, porn is OK in moderation but bad in excess.
1 0 0 0I really don't know, could be. But I like porn so I'll watch it
1 1 0 0I’ve been doing it since I was 18 and I’m not in the hospital yet.
0 1 0 0Psychologically, I don't think it's that bad. It's just people having sex. But physiologically, it probably is. Because your brain can get chemically addicted to the sexual release.
0 0 0 0I’ve unfortunately been struggling with that habit for years... But I never ever ever see women as objects, and I only have limited knowledge of what’s real because I’ve never experienced it.
0 1 0 1Women ARE objects. Women love to be objectified because therein lies their power. Psychological health is our own responsibility. Other studies will tell you that playing video games is bad for you.
0 0 2 0Porn is bad, and even more so when its a obsession. so yea you shouldn't watch it
0 1 0 0Excessive porn is bad, but incidental porn isn't
0 0 0 0It's not so much the porn that's bad as it is the person watching it. I'm not saying they're bad people, I'm saying if porn was the bad part, we would all be negatively affected band that's simply not the case.
0 1 0 0The research is mixed...
0 0 0 0I only watch it when I am not in a relationship.
And only to get to sleep.0 0 0 0False. If you watch porn knowing what it is and how different it is from actual sex, you'll be fine.
Also, depends on how frequently you watch it, and how frequently you masturbate with it. Anything in excess is bad0 0 0 0If you use porn instead of paying attention to your wife/girlfriend I would not call that fine.
I definitely agree. But you can have a girlfriend, have sex with her and also watch porn. They are not mutually exclusive
All people are different.
The number of people in this planet is too high.
So not all are affected by porn.0 0 0 0- Show More (17)
