Is sex a basic human right?

In the Netherlands sex is considered a basic human right. So disabled citizens can recieve government funds to pay for prostitutes up to 12 times a year? In America you go to jail for trying to satisfy normal sexual urges, like hiring a prostitute. Something is wrong with us, we judge the people that can't find a partner for whatever reason and expect them to remain celibate. One of the reasons all our catholic priests are becoming pervs!.

Understand that the question is: a disabled person and i am now including people that for whatever reason cannot ever get into a sexual relationship (dis-formed, hideous, etc.) should have the right to hire a partner that is willing to perform coitus or sexual act for a monetary exchange. which they would never get otherwise

  • No...

    • no what?

    • It is not.

  • You’re forgetting that prostitution can fall under sex trafficking real quick so I don’t see anything positive out of the US ever adopting that law. And it’s a need not a right.

  • Sex is a normal and natural human function, nevertheless whoring and having sex with hookers is immoral and should be unacceptable.

  • Actually, in the Animal world, the strongest male fights for mating rights. It is a need not a right.

  • Lol i don't have an issue getting it do i can't relate.

  • It should be a basic human right. What's funny is republicans want people to keep having white kids, but yet they also don't want people having sex at the same time

  • It is definitely a basic need, but it is not a right.

  • What if there were no prostitutes? What happens to your basic human rights then?

    • Prostitution has been around as long as life has been around that would never be the case, your answer is ridiculous!

    • It's a hypothetical question.

    • a silly one at that

  • Not a right even if a "basic need" by any standards.
It's more of a basic need than menstrual pads though.

  • It is odviously not a basic need, You don't need it to survive.
I think it's a basic human right though, Everyone should have the right to have sex or not have sex.

  • No. A person will survive without it

  • WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE WOMEN ON HERE 😂👍

  • And they claim their land to be the freedom country. The sad part is that it's not a joke nor funny.
No hate for America but still.
Germany and Netherlands allow trading money for sex. The government doesn't mind at all.

  • The question in the heading and the question in the poll are two very different questions with two completely opposite answers (at least from me). Sex absolutely is a human need (at least for most of us. There are a few exceptions). Aside from feeling really good it bonds us to our chosen partner in a very unique way. It also (obviously) is what creates human life. Most of us are biologically wired to have such a strong drive for sex that it's probably the highest human need behind eating, drinking, and sleeping.
HOWEVER, just because it's a human need doesn't mean it's a human right. You don't have a right to have sex with anyone. I guess you have a right to pleasure yourself if you want, but that's it. That's the only form of sex any person has a right to.

    • the question Im trying to get across is: is it a right to be able to hire a prostitute without going to jail if thats the only way your going to get a human partner for sex
