No, for me it really doesn't change. But I recognize that for my fiancée it's a need (we had some sexless periods and she made it clear she hates them) so I do my best to avoid a sexless relationship.

Fundamental as in food, warmth and shelter? No. But it is a need of sorts for wellbeing. It’s just not a necessity or basic need that’s life and death.
