The other day I was kinda upset so me and my friend just cuddled up and spooned each other. I've know her for ages but we've never done anything like this before. Is this kinda thing gay?

no, we were with the youth movement sleeping in a barn when we were on a hike and my friend had no sleeping bag so i shared it with him, we used it as a blanket, it was cold we needed to stay warm so we did the spooning thing out of survival..

Nope. Me and my girl friends always do things like that. We hold hands in the streets, cuddle and all. It is not gay when it is done by girls.

well in the french part of belgium men say hi by kissing each other in the cheek and they sometimes give a hug as well. they are more affectionate then the dutch here.

@anonman32 Georgian men do the same thing always. We kiss people on the cheek who we know, but we hug ones who we respect and like. I guess Georgian men are affectionate as well :P

i think this is because of hegemonic masculinity. in some cultures it is perceived as unmanly to do such a thing. i think thats just dumb.

Yeah we should change our old ways of thinking. I've never thought that kiss on the cheek and hug would be perceived as unmanly things. It is so usual here. I've red your answer and you did it for survival but wouldn't it be a little gay if you did it without aim of survival?

i said survival but i was just cold lol. it sounded better. some men would perceive it as gay, but i know that when i hug a guy its not sexual because i am straight and pretty certain about my sexuality. the men that perceive it as gay in my opinion are insecure and uncertain about their masculinity.

@anonman32 lol yeah it sounded better. I got it, same thing happened last summer, my guy friends (5-6) slept on the floor and It was really cold and they were gang spooning. All of them are fully straight.
