My boyfriend talked me into anal then dumped me the next day. Why would he do that?

He's my first real boyfriend, I lost my virginity to him and I love him. We were dating for 13 weeks so I must have meant something to him mustn't I? Last week he told me I was the most average sex he's ever had and wanted to make things better... so we should try anal. We did it, then the next day he sent me a text saying we should see other people. Is there any chance for us and how do I go about winning him back?
