This is interesting as I was looking this topic up for a female friend who thought it was disgusting to her but not all (men and women). The medical explanation is this has to do with pheromones (a chemical substance produced and released into the environment by an animal, especially a mammal or an insect, affecting the behavior or physiology of others of its species) not a fetish.
