Sexual Health Should they introduce a law to stop men flirting with women?

Most women don't like it and get uncomfortable. Some creep leering at them and then trying to ask them out. It's uncalled for. Shouldn't women have the right to go out and not have men bothering them and making them feel uncomfortable. There was a similar law passed in Switzerland I think, It wasn't the exact same but it sounded like a good idea.

17 32the Crime is called sexual harassment. And if experiencing it in a bar and a club it is the bouncers job to enforce it. freedom of speech is something that we hold very high in America. So to make a law against men hitting on women would go against that freedom. So no I do not think there should be a law to stop men from hitting on women. I do think women should be able to go on about their day without having to be bothered by guys, but that just isn't the case. Most of the time those guys that they are talking about are in neighborhoods that the woman should be avoiding anyways. So in scenarios like that I would just say, those women need to use better judgement in where they go
there is a clear difference between flirting and sexual harassment. those videos going around of women trying to show the cat calling they deal with on a fairly regular basis is quite silly in my opinion.
By the way sexual harrassment isn't a criminal offense maybe civil but your really forgetting the 2nd part of the phrase, harrassment, it means repeatedly or of especially egregious nature the first time.
If a man is leering at a woman and trying to talk to her when her body language clearly shows she is uncomfortable and isn't interested then I consider that sexual harassment. She has to put up with some pig leering at her knowing what kind of filthy crap he is probably thinking about her. That just doesn't sound right. Should be illegal.

But yes it is not technically criminal. and I wasn't forgetting that part., what they asked her was referring to is the seriously Bolger catcalling about a girl may deal with. that falls under sexual harassment. But legal action against a random person doing that seems very unlikely
That's another point. If some man is texting a female friend of his and suddenly does something sick like send a pic of his pecker then I consider that to be sexual harassment and should be illegal.
I'm of the mindset that not every problem we have in society should be solved with a new law. There are far too many laws as it is, some of which that do not make the least bit of sense. This matter isn't something that should be fixed by a law that would only cause more problems than it does solve. The places that girls would have to deal with this kind of problem are places that should have security in the first place.

Never said that. If a man flirts with a woman and she actually likes him and she isn't uncomfortable then I have no problem. But if a man leers at a woman and flirts with her and she is uncomfortable and not interested then that should be outlawed. No I don't think you're right. To say that you'd be fine that a man flirt with a girl if she likes it but you wouldn't be okay if the girl doesn't like it is stupid. I mean sure, if the girl clearly doesn't like it and he carries on he's in the wrong, but that's sexual harassment - already illegal. As for some women finding it uncomfortable or awkward, that's part of life. Sometimes you're going to feel awkward and uncomfortable, you have to learn to deal with it. I remember asking a question about when asking guys out. Only about half a dozen responses stated that a women has asked a guy out. At last half said they gave up after being rejected once. If women find being rejected so hard than they shouldn't complain when someone they don't like hits on them. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

Why stop at flirting? Why not pass a law requiring all men to avert their eyes in the presence of women? And pass a law prohibiting them from talking before being spoken to. All courtship should take place through forms signed in triplicate before a notary and transmitted through couriers.

There are many things happening on the street that make me uncomfortable. I learn to deal with it, as should women. Keep in mind, many women appreciate it when a guy walks up to them and gives them a compliment, we shouldn't have laws based on some stuck-up womens' comfort levels. Women should learn how to appreciate a compliment even if they're not interested, after all, it is quite hard for men to approach women.
Women should not have to learn or tolerate this behavior. Simple. Men are causing the problem. That's where you fix the problem.
This is the most respectful way to talk to someone. If someone has a problem with it, they have issues. I'm not born to make women feel 100% comfortable wherever they are, they don't own the street. They don't owe me a conversation and I don't owe them the street. While we're at it, let's arrest all the homeless people, people giving out flyers, and people asking me for directions, because they make me feel uncomfortable for a few seconds. Some men don't know how to properly talk to women, that is the problem, they have to be taught how to do it right, not get arrested. "Most women don't like it and get uncomfortable"? Where did you get that from? In my experience, around 20% of girls like it, another 70% appreciate it, but are not really interested or available or are in a hurry. In fact, very very few girls just walk by without saying thanks or acknowledging you.
