It is different for everyone, but for me, sex is a very important part of my relationship. I met my fiancé in a bar. He tried to get me to hang out with him for a month after that and I wouldn't. We texted constantly and talked every day at least once. In that time I fell in love with him... over the phone... first night we got intimate, I was worried what I would do if the sex was bad; I was deeply in love with this man and that would have been devastating.

Why didn’t you agree to another date and reject him for one month?

Honestly? I had a boyfriend when we met, but there was an instant connection; friendship. We talked like friends; about things you would NEVER tell someone you thought you'd ever date. I even got boyfriend advice from him, because i was not in a good relationship. He lived 160 miles away from me, but grew up near me. He came to where he grew up every weekend to try to get me to hang out "as friends" but I didn't think that was a good idea because I did have a boyfriend and I knew I was developing feelings for this guy.

That makes sense. So looking back on it you really could have broken up with your boyfriend at the time and been single. Sounds like your emotions developed because he proved to be trustworthy and kept giving you attention that was deserved. And also because he knew you were in a relationship his character showed by not pursuing you romantically and respecting your boundaries. Yep, I get it.

Yes! I do think he was trying to get me to break up with the bd the entire time, but he saw how he was treating me and knew that wasn't okay. I think itbis best how it all worked out, because we were able to get to know each other as friends instead of a crush; people are more themselves when feelings are not on the line.

Congratulations on getting married soon. Make sure he’s always chasing after you even years later ;)

Its been a little over 3 years and he still treats me the way he did when he was trying to date me. He treats me like a queen; complete gentleman. I mean, he even opens the car door for me. I'm very lucky!

what if the sex is bad because he's a virgin?
Opinion Owner

Maybe he should start off with someone who is also a virgin.

That's harsh, how many girls are still virgins? 👀 You're not even seeing that you can make a guy the best lover by training him because he won't have lots of habits he thinks will work on every woman. But anyway that's kinda sad that you'd reject because of sexual inexperience. Instead you'd prefer a guy whose had sex with 100 women?

Dude calm down, she made a reasonable recommendation. It’s not harsh, other times if the sex is bad you can try again.

@OutdoorsForLife virgins are mostly teenagers, is that really a reasonable recommendation? 🤦

Mostly they are. So teenagers begin by having sex with other teenagers. They learn and experiment and get better with practice.

There are actually many women who wait, so it wasn't an impossible thought. Was not meant to be harsh or rude; you asked a question and I answered.

@OutdoorsForLife yeah and that's why there are a population of teenage single mothers. It isn't appropriate. A woman telling us that she'd be put off by an experienced guy because perhaps he is responsible with his life is just shameful.

And you judging someone for choosing to have sex early makes you perfect, right?
