What misconceptions of sex did you have when you were younger, that you're wise to now?

I know so many people that were clueless about sex... and want to know what you guys used to think when you were younger.

I've heard people ask whether they could get pregnant from swallowing sperm or that to have sex you rubbed against each other, to name a few😂

  • My biggest misconception was anatomical. I had sex for the first time when I was 16. I just assumed that the entire space between a girl's labia was the vaginal opening. I really fumbled around trying to get my penis inside her and she had to help me out. So after that awkward first time I did my homework about female anatomy and learned that the vaginal opening is actually lower down in the space between the inner labia (the area known as the vestibule). And then also that first time, when I told the girl I didn't have a condom, she said it was okay because she had just finished her period. I also learned that that wasn't okay although fortunately she didn't get pregnant.

    • Thank you for the anatomy lesson. LOL

  • For me, it wasn't so much a 'misconception' about sex. It was a 'misconception' about vaginas.

Let me tell you... those diagrams of vaginas...(you know... the ones with "labia minora" and "clitoris" labels and whatnot)... yea... that's NOT what an actual vagina looks like...

I remember being super surprised (and not in a bad way)... the first time I saw an actual vagina. I don't really know what I was expecting... but I was surprised.

Not now though... I'm "wise to" vaginas now. :)

  • I assumed all guys knew where, and how, to touch us to make us orgasm, but found out quickly, to my chagrin, that there were some things that parents just weren't going to get near and were going to leave it to the girls to train them ourselves... lol

  • That most guys were premature ejaculators or that 10 mins was enough time for sex

  • The second one is exactly what I thought

  • The angle of the vagina surprised me somewhat, it's just … not what I expected somehow. I think even the location did a little, though I have a theory on that. Guys tend to assume the vagina will be more 'in front' then it is, and women often seem to imagine guys equipment is more 'between the legs' vs in front, when inexperienced. I think growing up we imagine the vagina and penis are same spot, when actually the penis is more where the clit is, and the vagina is closer to where balls are.

My sister growing up based on diagrams somehow thought each testicle had its own bag. Clearly wasn't very observant since we saw each other naked as small kids.

    • Thats cos before our gender is assigned to us in the womb our sexual organs have already started development so the clit is the penis and if you could push your testicles through the hole behind them youd sort kf have a vagina shape, the balls being the ovaries. Look up a huge clit it just looks like a small penis its really weird but kinda cool 😂😂

  • I thought sex was when the guy peed inside the girl.

  • I used to think you couldn't get a girl pregnant if you don't cum in her while she's ovulating. Totally not true, but a lot of people still believe it.

  • #1) That I knew what I was doing !
#2) That I had to be "in love" with the girl to enjoy it.
