What's more common: legitimate rape claims being dismissed or women lying about being raped?

Kinda a loaded question, but ok

Kudos to the woman who wrote this:
Should Women Who Make False Rape Accusations Be Subjected To Jail Time?

So here comes a man to put some perspective on this: it's far more likely that she's telling the truth.

It makes me wonder, how often does it actually happen, though.. never happened to me, nor have I ever been afraid that some woman is going to accuse me of rape... I figure, if you don't rape her, she's not going to accuse you.

Well, I can't say that for certain, and I have seen a question here that seems to be a woman trying to get back at a guy for giving him an std by accusing him of sexual assault.. so I guess it does happen..

Some guys are so afraid of this happening that they don't even want to meet women.. yikes eh? I have literally talked to dudes like that. 😥
... maybe just avoid women that are overly focused on rape and have reality problems. Like if they think that touching them on the arm is rape or a violation of their boundaries or sexual harassment, or something like that. I wouldn't trust a woman like that.. I think most women won't lie about being raped..

I've also seen a question that has a sweet innocent girl who thinks that she just has different tastes in sex, but is getting raped repeatedly, and all the guys are like hurr durr, you should do more for him.. and I gave those guys a piece of my mind (and hopefully changed theirs).

Awe this poor girl... 😥😥😥😥😥
Different tastes in sex, any advice?

    Obviously

  • Women lie about rape WAY MORE than it actually happens.

When women can claim and society allows rape to be...
    regret is rape,
    feeling obligated is rape,
and A female having ANY alcohol in her can no longer make rational decisions while a black out drunk male is 1000% responsible for everything he decides to do in a drunken stooper... is considered rape,
then it's easy to get "rape" numbers that seem epidemic.

But ACTUAL rape is less than 1 in 1000 as per the Bureau of justice statistics (the gold star in crime stats) which INCLUDES the fabricated and always changing "90% don't come forward" but doesn't remove the 41% of rape allegations which turn out to be false.

So yeah... it's easier for women to claim rape than it is for males to actually do it.

  • Women lying. Remember 1 in 4 women have mental issues and want to be the centre of attention.

  • We will never know for sure how many cases there are in each category. But here is something to consider... the VAST majority of false rape allegations never come to light because the cases are just dropped due to lack of evidence (there was a lack of evidence because there was no rape in the first place). It is exceedingly difficult to prove a false allegation in most cases, and law enforcement does not have the time, resources or motivation to pursue them and prove they are false, even when it is obvious they are false. As a result, the statistics for false rape allegations are very, very misleading. Some estimates suggest that 20% - 30% of rape allegations are actually false.

    • Or there’s lack of evidence when rape occurred. So moronic.

    • @Anoniemus Yes, that happens too, but we hear about that all the time, don't we. But we never hear about what I described above with respect to false allegations... unless, like me, you know people in the law enforcement community who have a ton of experience with rape cases and are willing to share what they see every day.

    • Who cares? It’s much less than actual rape. Instead of comparing, both should be punished severely

  • I dont give a fuck if someone falsely accuse me for something. I would prosecute this person. I dont get the problem here. By comparing falsely accusations with rape you are bellittling rape. While rapist victims are dealing with mental and physical problems, -some even died due to vaginal and inner bleeding-, false accusation victims only have to go to police and report that person back for accusing them without any evidence. The police would not also do anything to you if the accuser dont show any evidence.
Anyway, in my country legimate rape claims being dismissed are more common because of lack of evidence or because of no video record of the rape.

    • Women lying

    • Does not matter. Without any evidence reporting someone does not make the guy or girl go to jail. You can report this person back

    • I'm not belittling rape, but you're belittling false accusations. Also, knowingly filing a false police report is up to 5 years in jail, where I'm from :)

  • I think on a global scale women making false rape claims is pretty rare. I get the sense that most rape survivors don't even bother to report it. It's probably more hassle than being raped in the first place.
