  • That line from Bill Clinton, "I did not have sexual relations with that woman," is basically a pop culture and political landmark from the 90s. It's like one of those moments in a movie where the plot takes a wild turn, and you're just sitting there with your popcorn going, "No way!"

Here's the scoop: Bill Clinton, who was the U. S. President at the time, dropped this line during a big press conference in 1998. He was talking about an intern whose name is Monica Lewinsky. But here's the twist – it turned out he wasn't exactly telling the truth. They had been involved, and this little fib blew up into a massive scandal.

Do you know the importance of this phrase? Well, first off, you've got the President, the big cheese, saying this on national TV, and later everyone finds out it's not true. Talk about a trust issue! And let's not forget the late-night show hosts – they had a field day with this.

Then, things got real serious. This statement became the center of Clinton's impeachment drama. It was like a political soap opera, and it pretty much overshadowed a lot of his presidency.

But it's not just about the politics. This phrase turned into a symbol of how messy things can get when personal life and public duties collide. So, when you think about it, "I did not have sexual relations with that woman" isn't just famous because of the scandal. It's one of those things that once you hear, you can't forget – it's etched into the 90s like grunge music and "Friends."

  • Everyone is grasping at straws here, because they don't have a clue.

What's so significant about the phrase, "I did not have sexual relations with that woman" (coined by Bill Clinton)?

"I did not have sexual relations with 'that' woman."

Who in the fuck is 'that' woman? No one in the world has had sex with 'that' woman.

But Bill finally admitted to having sex with Monica Lewinsky. I guess Monica wasn't 'that' woman. The dumb-ass should have just told the truth in the first place, and he wouldn't have been impeached.

  • The significance is it was a blatant lie. It's ok for politicians to make mistakes, have brain farts, or have policies you disagree with but it's not OK to look into a camera and give a statement that's a blatant lie.

  • I couldn't care less. I didn't care at the time and don't care now. It was just another politically motivated witch hunt. The dude was cheating on his wife. Of course he lied about it. So does everyone else who cheats.

When the Republicans impeached Clinton, I knew they had lost it. The Republicans had taken over Congress for the first time in something like forty years. They had been pushed around and treated like shit for so long, that when they came to power they were out for revenge. That's what the impeachment was all about.

I predicted then what turned out to be true. If the Republicans were stupid enough to impeach Clinton for bullshit trivial political reasons, it would turn around and bite them in the ass. That's exactly what happened when the Democrats impeached Trump. Impeachment has become a political tool and it's too important to be used that way.

So Clinton got a blow job in the White House. So what? That was his business.

  • In retrospect, it marked the time when a President's indiscretions and blatant disregard of the law didn't destabilize the country, get people killed, or undermine the very notion of liberal democracy. President Clinton may have made you embarrassed to be an American, but not ashamed, like the administration of everyone who's come after him.

Pretty impressive for a guy who said, IN COURT, "It depends on what your definition of 'is' is.".

  • She used teeth I don't know

  • i think, because he so adamantly denied anything happened but then of course the smoking gun, or cum stained dress, was right around the corner. so it's like you didn't have sexual relations with her but someone shot that load on her. so which is it?

  • What’s significant about it is that Bill’s opinion of what “sexual relations” means differs from most everyone else’s.
At minimum we know Bill Clinton got a blow job… that evidence was left on a dress. We also know he used a cigar on her like a dildo…. To most people that is “sexual relations”

  • Bill set the implicit legal standard for what is considered "having sex" ... because the President, head of the Executive Branch of government that enforces laws, said so.

Before Bill... any physical act (BJ, HJ, cunnilingus, intercourse, etc.) was considered "having sex".

After Bill... now "having sex" means intercourse. Not sure what all the others are called now.

  • It makes me wonder what the definition of “is” is. Lol.

  • It was a lie. An attempt to worm out of the situation.

  • Slick Willie just got a BJ from young Monica. In his mind tget was not really a sequel relation even though he made a mess all over Monica's dress

  • Because it turned out that he lied.

  • They’re designed to conceal the truth. It may be true he did not have intercourse with Monica Lewinsky, but he did stick a cigar in her vagina.

  • Nothing. Other than he was lying about it.

  • He lied

  • Woah it’s an American president. What happened to his eyebrows?

  • It wasn’t so much a lie as a farce. I mean how do you double down that getting your dick sucked to orgasm is not ‘sexual relations’?

  • I honestly couldn’t care less. The only thing I’m interested in when it comes to a president is results. Can he or she make the country better. That’s it.

  • Was probably the fact that he was lying on TV, but we allll new he was patting

  • Nothing really. I mean, just that he lied to congress. He testified in front of congress, unlike that idiot trump

  • Catch phrase from pop culture of the past

  • He didn't lie. He was accused of fucking the intern. He did not fuck the intern, just had her blow him

  • Bill was the best president since Reagan, it's a shame that people prosecuted him for a mistake that any human being can make meanwhile they overlooked the mistakes of many other presidents like invading other countries and destroying them for ever or putting the country and the people in debit and raising taxes to the ceiling.

    • He lied about it, under oath, and was disbarred.

    • Like all the others haven't lied ever? What else you expected him to do? Anyone else would have done the same. I'm not saying he is a saint, no one is, I'm just saying it's stupid that people only judge when a sexual scandal is in question, but when it comes to war and destroying the world, presidents become national heroes. At least he was the only president who actually took actions in the direction of peace, especially between Israel and Palestine.

    • Clinton tried, and failed, to achieve Palestinian-Israeli agreements in July, October, and December 2000. What success did he have?
