I'm 5'0 and weigh 85 pounds (yes, I've been gaining weight!) with a BMI of 16.6, which is underweight compared to the average minimum healthy weight of 18.5. I was curious about whether my small band size (27) is related to my underweight BMI.
It's practically impossible to buy a bra with a band size below 32; if I become a healthy weight, will my band size increase? (For those who don't know, "band size" refers to the size of the ribcage & the body fat that surrounds the ribcage - you can see my ribs below my breasts, so my lack of fat in that area probably contributes to my small band size.)
So let's see if there's a correlation: what's your BMI? (Calculate here if you don't know.) & What's your band size? If you don't know, here's how to measure:Do NOT add any inches to your band size (I used to wear 32in bands, because my aunt added 5in to my band size when she measured it; apparently adding 4-5in used to be common, but it's a method that's not used anymore.)
Dudes with moobs can also answer if they feel like measuring themselves.
I guess I'll put this in the "sexuality" tag because it has to do with bras & I don't know where else to classify it, but mods can move the question if they wish.

My bmi is 21 and my band size is 32
My BMI is 19 and my band size is 32, but I don't think band size and BMI have any correlation. Someone who is very tall could weigh a lot more, still have a low BMI but need a bigger band size because they are just a larger person in general. You sound very petite, which would explain the small band size, but it's not directly related to your BMI.
