I never understood why it's called a "blow job". You're not really blowing, you're sucking lol you ain't playing a trumpet, you sucking a"D". I get maybe cuz it might be mind "blowing" for a man to receive but not always if not "done" right.

  • I found this:

From blow off ("to fellate") (originating among prostitutes from 1933) + job.

    • Interesting

  • lol fantastic question. will have to google the origins later :)

    • @Brainsbeforebeauty thanks for the like... and the laugh :)

    • Any time lol we all need a good laugh sometimes

    • @Brainsbeforebeauty agreed and the more often the better

  • Why is this even a " JOB "

    • Right? Make it sound like work and people won't wanna do. Lmao

    • Blowjob sounds more like you are being asked to intentionally screw a given task. Girl - i blew the job. Boy - that was great

    • Lmao funny love that❤lol

    • Show All
  • It sounds good just like eating pussy sounds good

  • I'd say because when you do a good job I "blow" my wad.

    • Ha ha good answer but where the job part come in?

  • I wonder this a lot myself.

I mean I never felt any blowing sensation from my ex or the other chicks I've gotten oral from. especially the ones after my ex who gave me very pornographic blowjobs. miss that slow and sensual way blowjob I used to get from my ex!

    • 😂Lol thanks for the laugh. But yeah I know what you mean.. not bout missing blow job lol but that person that know how you really like"it"

    • yeah I wonder if that meant anything since my ex was the only person who actually had feelings for me. the others where mostly escort and strippers, and like two of them were random chicks I met at parties

    • So maybe love does make the sex better🤔or at least the blow job lol If you haven't, please see my latest post and add your well wishes to a fellow G#Ger If you already did thank you

  • The activity probably predates the term blowjob. My guess is that it was first used for addicts of blow, who didn't have any money so this would have been the payment method.

    • so the activity of blowjob is older than the word blowjob yet you assume that it was coined for people who would trade sex for cocaine... a new age drug... some 140yrs old. lol

    • I don't know so i do have to assume + it makes sense when u think about it.

    • Well just like the term pussy came from pusillanimous blowjob came from belowjob But a good theory would be the face she or he makes during oral which looks like they are blowing air out

  • I don't know but I'd like to know too

  • Google it - plenty of explanations.
The technical or ancient term is 'fallatio'. The greeks called it playing a flute or 'fluting', perhaps that's where 'blow' came from.
In the seventies the movie DeepThroat moreorless cemented the term 'blowjob'.

In any case, yeah, it's to suck or stroke a man's penis. It may or may not 'blow their mind', most women aren't that good at it.

  • Because women used to blow cold air on the head after they got him wet from sucking.

    • Ok thanks for the info

  • Yeah- I had wondered about that too a few years ago.
The leading theories (we really aren't sure which is the winner) are as follows:
    1. In England, a really long time ago, "blow" was slang for ejaculate/cum/semen.
    2. It’s from a time in England when prostitutes were known as "blowsies".
    3. Linguists tie it to the expression “ to blowoff someone", meaning that you are finished with them, done, over and out!
    4. The act was once known as a “below job” for obvious reasons. The term has since been shortened to “b’lowjob” or simply “blowjob”.

    Take your pick! :- )

    • Thanks if you read of responses that was mostly the consensus but there were a few different ones as well

  • Whatever the hell ya call it I'm there (pants down)

  • Maybe the act started when a girl was blowing her boyfriend's injured penis to make the pain stop.

    Yeah, I have no idea!

    • 😂lol

  • Yes, it should. And I don't know; blowjob is a dumb term.

    • Lol right 😁

  • Don’t know, the term never really made sense

    • Ikr. I get mind " blowing" and "working"the D but still lol You gonna get some young inexperienced girl who gonna put in her mouth and start blowing instead of sucking 🤪lmao

    • Exactly

  • The original term was a bellow or bellow the belt job. It devolved into blow over the centuries.
This sort of subject wouldn't be written about many places for a younger generation to read so it became what some thought they had heard.

  • My preferred term came from my recent ex I had been with for 6 years, she always called it a "Mouth Hug"

    • 😊awww that's a good one.

  • Wow I never really thought about it. But I looked it up. In ancient times it was just fellatio, but since 1700s blow became to mean to make someone orgasm. Later below job was used and it became blow job since 1940s
I always went with sucktion fucktion though

    • Ooh that's a good one lmao

  • Freely translated, the swedish word is "suck-off". Which is maybe more accurate

    • There you go👏👏 that sounds better and more accurate than blow or suck job lol

  • I have actually asked this question in the past!
In my opinion, I think it dates back to Ancient times... Like Egypt, and Asia. (Perhaps they were practiced differently)
Cunnilingus and Fellatio were VERY popular in the past, and were thought to have Health and Psychological benefits!

    • Sorry didn't mean to steal your question. Lol always thought I read only weirdo who always wondered bout that.. Not calling you weirdo or anything lol just myself lmao

    • No no! (I asked that question years ago) - I never got a straight answer- We certainly are weird! In fact, I have a saying I say quite often: "Weird is normal, and Normal is weird"

    • Yeah but who defines what's weird and what's normal. One good thing to getting old, you stop giving a "F" Weird or normal, I'm me... people like it or don't🤷‍♀️and who gives a "F" Lol🤪
