Prostitutes don't tell their punters the truth if it would stop their revenues from continuing to flow. They tell them what they think they want to hear, true or false.

Politicians do the same when they are after your vote.

A prostitute, for sure. They're just business women selling a service. Some might be dishonest but some might be sweet. A politician's job, on the other hand, is to lie, steal and rape for a living.
