Why are so many straight guys grossed out by vaginas?

So, every gay friend I've ever had either thinks vaginas are cute or confusing but none of them are literally disgusted by them. every straight guy i talk to, however, are either IN LOVE with lady-parts or they are REPULSED by them.

The spectrum of reactions with hetero dudes is honestly kind of insane. What's your take?

If you have met supposed "straight" guys that are turned off and downright repulsed by vagina, you should question those supposed "straight" guys' sexuality. Don't believe that because guys only watch female-focused porn and/or focus mostly on women that they're straight. Some men are great at keeping their true sexuality hidden deep in the closet. No true straight man would ever be turned off by vagina. Either way, making judgments about how straight men feel about vaginas based on your own personal experiences and friend circles is illogical because it doesn't represent how a majority of straight men feel about them. In response to some of the other opinions, I noticed that some men mentioned the smell and appearance. The problem with that claim is that it is not the vagina itself that is a turn off, but rather the poor hygiene and the fact that it has an appearance that doesn't correspond to your liking. Apparently, not every vagina in the world is clean and because they come in various shapes, sizes, and colors, you are bound to find some that might not be as visually appealing to you. However, when a true straight man does come across a clean vagina that is visually appealing, he would be turned on, not repulsed. If every vagina, no matter the hygiene or appearance, turns him off, then the problem is clear as day: he's gay.

That's a lot of expectations to put on straight men. If a guy isn't into men but just isn't turned on by vagina I don't think that makes them gay. I'm pretty sure being gay means you're exclusively attracted to the opposite sex. As I said, these guys like boobs, they're into the female form, they like ass and hips and thighs like churches chicken, they just don't appreciate the muff flaps. This isn't a unique thing, either. I dated a foot-fetishist who could literally get off to a footjob... But not if it's a guy. What do you call that? Sexuality is a lot more fluid than people tend to think. Sure, he might be turned on by the female form, but that doesn't mean that he can't be gay. The possibility strongly exists that he could be bisexual (which is still gay because you're still attracted to men) and secretly into penis too. In fact, it could be very possible that a man downright repulsed by the sight of vagina might not even be repulsed at the sight of a penis. Think about it. It's not rocket science. If he is completely disgusted by vagina, then, deep down, he really doesn't like getting involved with vagina. For example, if I was disgusted by penis, I wouldn't do anything with a penis because it's disgusting. lol If that's the case, why I am wasting time with men? Looking at a man's body obviously can't do anything for me that a penis can, so why even get involved with men if I am repulsed by a man's primary sexual organ? You can't help but wonder if a guy like him probably likes penis better. I don't understand how you don't see this as suspect.

That's not how any of this works. If you aren't mostly attracted to men then you're not gay. A gay man who likes boobs wouldn't be considered straight by any stretch of the imagination. Or maybe a gay guy who just doesn't enjoy dicks. If he's still attracted to men and literally can't be with a woman AT ALL then that guy is still gay. Sexuality is not as simple as we might make it out to be, there's clearly a bit of nuance to everyone's orientation. a lot of people have odd fetishes, some people aren't attracted to anyone outside of their race, some people want to bang older folks, some people want to bang (legal) younger folks. People In divergent cultures have different traits they consider attractive, some cultures aren't very interested in breasts because women live topless, just like the men. Some cultures consider ankles to be a sexually provocative part of the body. None of that is based in our "biology" it's all social perception. They're not gay. They just don't like roast-beef.

He might have people in his circle, job, or family that are against homosexuality and he doesn't want them to know. It's the fact that our bodies are designed for the opposite sex. Obviously, our sexual organs are created for reproduction. To ensure that we do that, a penis has to penetrate a vagina. Straight men are sexually attracted only to women, and the vagina is a woman's primary sex organ. Thus, it makes perfect sense for straight men to be grossed out and repulsed by the vagina. However, vaginas come in different shapes, sizes, and colors and could have issues relevant to disease and hygiene. A straight man might be disgusted by a vagina with a certain appearance based on his preferences or an illness and/or hygienic issue that the vagina might have, but not necessarily be repulsed by vagina in general. If he is, then it is very difficult to believe that he is truly a straight man. To answer your other questions, yes, I am a straight woman. While I might not be turned on by every random dick that I see for whatever reason, be it size differences, possible disease, hygiene issues, shape, etc., I am not repulsed or grossed out by the sight of dicks in the general sense. If a dick does turn me off, it would be the result of a certain characteristic that the dick has that I don't like compared to other dicks that I've experienced, not the mere fact that it's a dick that I'm experiencing. You have no basis to assume that I am disgusted or repulsed by them. If I were, it wouldn't make sense to call myself a straight woman. I don't get why this is so difficult for people to understand.

Psychology major, here: Listen to what you've wrote. Seriously, read it. Then, ask yourself (and be honest): does this also work the other way around? If a woman finds penises gross, for whatever reason (there can be many), but otherwise is very physically and romantically attracted to men: should a man assume her a lesbian? I don't think, at least how you've worded yourself, that you quite understand how sexual orientation actually works. You have a short sighted window frame, about a very large spectrum of human sexuality. There re many reasons that one could be grossed out by the genitals of the gender that they find most attractive: History of abuse, Sexual aversion disorders, Sexual Fetishism disorders (only aroused by very specific objects or acts, thus not affiliating the genitalia with the pleasure it brings)... just to name a few possibilities. Of coure, it is possible that the person could be gay and closeted, but if you are in a relationship with that person, it is not healthy of respectful to say that their sexuality "should" be questioned. Gay is exclusive attraction to the same gender. Straight is exclusive attraction to the opposite gender. Bisexuality is literally everything in between those. We can have disagreements without insulting my intelligence. Nevertheless, to address your points, if a woman finds men attractive but she is repulsed by all penises, her being lesbian is definitely possible, considering that lesbians are typically grossed out by penises. I believe that everybody should assume what's possible. However, to determine if a possibility is true, they should test it. I don't buy that a person can truly be sexually attracted to the opposite sex while being repulsed by their genitals in a general sense. Plenty lesbians exist that might find a man attractive, but they have no desire to pursue a relationship with men. An aversion to penises can greatly contribute to such a lack of desire.

Such mental illnesses impair one's sexual orientation, making them not truly straight. Maintaining a relationship with a member of the opposite sex would be almost impossible because of this issue. I also don't agree that questioning a partner's sexual orientation is disrespectful or should be reconsidered. Such aspects of a person's character should be questioned to uncover why they exist in hopes of finding a possible solution. Not everybody would be willing to stay in a relationship with their supposedly "straight" partner that finds her genitals repulsive.
