Why Brats come in pack of 5 and buns in pack of 6?

Because they aren't listening to the customer, and it is more cost-effective, for them to use the same pans, and make 6 buns, in 2 pairs of three, than to make five buns, in a row, or 2 and 3! For the Bun Bastards, it is just cost and profit (I work for a company that makes Bakery things, and that was their reasoning, and the pans that were made, by the Pan Makers!).
For the Brat guys, I don't think they care!! The tray, that they have, maybe 10 million of, in stock, suits them just fine. They don't care about the Bun makers!! Or the customer, either!
