Because we are NOT WOMEN, and because we are not women, we have very different priorities and desires and values. That's actually to your benefit in many ways - women don't want men who are just like they are, for many good reasons.

For men, sex is a vital and necessary activity - like breathing or eating - and we're perfectly capable of enjoying sex for it's own sake. Let's put it this way: even though ice cream has very little nutritional value, most people enjoy eating it, because it's enjoyable regardless of the fact that it isn't bringing any real nutritional value to your body. You enjoy eating ice cream because it tastes good, and that's all the reason need. For men, sex feels good, AND because it satisfies our incredibly strong biological urge to have sex (for a short while, anyway). That's all the reason we need to want or enjoy sex.

Now, this doesn't mean that we don't have feelings or that we don't fall in love with women or that we're not romantic - because for the vast majority of us, we do all of those things. The difference is that our SEXUAL desires are simply not LIMITED to just those women we have romantic feelings for - our sexual desires are only limited by the women we find attractive, are willing, and aren't otherwise disqualified for reasons such as being psycho, being a co-worker, or for having dated our close friend in the recent past. For most men, having romantic feelings is NOT a requirement for us enjoying sex, anymore than ice cream lacking nutrition is going to prevent people from eating and enjoying it.

Yes, this makes us DIFFERENT from most women. But you'll find that there are LOTS of differences between men and women, and no matter how many times you are told that men and women are the same, that's simply NOT the truth. We're the same in many ways, but we're also different in many ways, and so you cannot just assign female priorities and desires and values onto a man, any more than you can assign male priorities and desires and values onto a woman.

Would you like to be forced to do a "traditionally male" job, such as mining, oil-field work, electrical lineman, sanitation, construction, etc? Why not? Oh, because women are DIFFERENT and don't really want to do those difficult, dirty, back-breaking, scary jobs, right? Well, that's fine. Men UNDERSTAND that women are different from men, and we're okay with that - but WOMEN have been lied to and told that men and women are the same (except in areas where women have the advantage, in which case, that's just because women are better, or course), but we aren't. We're different. And you should understand that and learn how to navigate those differences to your advantage. You aren't going to change the rules of the game - no matter how hard some women try - so if you want to do well, you have to do the best you can within the rules of the game, just as men do.

Sex for men is mostly a physical thing, while for women it often involves emotion. The reason for that is biological... the base instinct that men and woman have to procreate. Men have billions of sperm, can ejaculate several times a day, and can do that for their entire life, which makes men able not picky when it comes to sex. Women, on the other hand, have only one egg a month for a limited number of years during their life, which makes them picky in choosing a partner and the desire to have sex.

Yes, we are very different in many ways. There are two types of sex…. Sex with someone you care about / love and just plain sex.

The first, sex with someone you care about/in love with…. it’s always better (for me anyway). It includes everything, mind and body.

Just plain sex…one night stand, friends with benefits…. All good, fun, exhilarating (because someone new/different)…. but generally not someone we want to be with forever. Therefore, no emotion or attachment (for the most part).

I think you answered your own Q. For men usually, their brain is NOT connected to their D. The D wants what the D wants! I'm not proud of it, but I can remember a ONS that was pure sex. In my drunken state in the darkness of the bar, she looked like my ex, so I pursued and bedded her. I didn't give a F about her personality or views or even to hear her voice. I just wanted what was between her legs. She talked... blah... blah... blah. I smiled and said: Are you going to talk all night or F? And I proceeded to seduce her and took her to the bedroom.
