Eyes often tell more then thousand words. You show so much about yourself by the way you look at someone. You can communicate love, appreciation, lust, that you're impressed, that you're thankful but also disgust and pity, the list goes on. Sometimes we communicate things through our eyes that we don't even have words for but subconsciously give and receive. I also need the eye contact not only for the climax but several times during the intercourse. Its doesn't have to be a staring competition since the female body has a lot more to offer thats beautiful and to look at, but it has to be a lot of eyecontact for me.
Its funny that I can't stand eye contact out of bed though, I hate that in normal conversations haha :d
