Why do we have good dreams about the worst people?

Is it just our subconscious playing a trick on us? Reminding us of the few good moments with the person? I constantly dream about school bullies trying to befriend me, good relationships with bad exes, getting along with the men of my moms past, and so on. Is it just my way of seeing the good in everyone?

In last nights dream, I was dating a certain ex, the worst ex. But one thing about him, he always knew how to touch me. And eventually how to fck me. And no other kiss has come close. So like Towards the end of the dream, we went to make love but he was having a hard time letting himself go emotionally. He just always wanted to fck but we were finally about to make love (such a rarity for us). We get interrupted and decide to take a walk through the woods instead.

The woods was where I lost my virginity and it was a horrible experience. But in this dream, it becomes a nice moment and we end up discovering this beautiful spring. We sit on this rock and I’m between his legs as we just face the scenery and enjoy eachothers company, relaxing our feet in the water.

We turn to kiss and he asks “so are we fckin or makin love?” I surprise him with my answer but we turn and admire eachothers body as we begin to undress. Our skin is as golden brown as ever, just shimmering in the sun. In real life, he hardly admired my body since I was just like a sex doll that he slung around.

Anyways we begin making out heavily and i can feel every kiss and every touch. Reminiscing when i don’t want to. Then he stops kissing me to ask a question. In shock, i wake up from the dream. Man i was pisssed! I was bout to get laid 😂 I tossed and turned all morning trying to get back to that dream lol. I mean Our relationship might have been a total fckup but the diick will always be unforgettable 🤣

Dreams are just like files on a computer library that haven't yet been sorted efficiently into the best folder for pulled recall later on long term. So memories are not relevent and mundane - delete these files. Others are powerful and important or pleasurable to recall later on or important for survival when faced with a certain task or obstacle in future - save/optimize the files. l in your brain for later.

What u are dreaming of is just the file/memory your brain is currently working on reviewing at the moment while alseep. Often disjointed from the next although we often create stories out of them. They can also be a great way to see what is on your brain's subconscious mind and most important to you at that stage in life that it dwells on and relives some nights.

What little of what remember of my dreams are usually mundane couple things. They often involve an apparition of a nondescript woman. Maybe my subconscious longs for something I never had but can't grasp a particular person so it makes a ghost. I don't hold any meaning towards it.

I think to an extent our brains try to work through things even while we’re sleeping. After I ended a two year abusive relationship I dreamt of my ex consistently for around 3 weeks, some good but mostly bad. Almost two years later and I still have dreams once in a blue moon about him. I searched what it means to have a dream of an ex being mean to you and it said it was a trauma response so fuck me sideways🤷🏻‍♀️😂

I think it has to do with trauma and the high one felt when with them. I sometimes have dreams about a woman I dated in the past who I would honestly say was the first woman I truly loved. The dreams always revolve around the night she told me she didn't feel the same way about me I did her.

Not always a memory, but the encounters are always somber and bittersweet more than anything.

It is interesting what we think / fantasize / dream about. It can sometimes be about conflict resolution or just thinking about the good times/potential good times with “bad” people (maybe helping us justify our time with bad people) or lustful type dream (wishing things had worked out).
