Sexual Health Why don't old guys realize that it is DISGUSTING when they hit on/ catcall young girls? Girls, is it bothering you as much as it is bothering me?

Catcalling is always degrading and innapropriate. If I look nice, I did it for myself, or theoretically for a boy that I want to see that day. I cerainly didn't do my hair and makeup and didn't put my outfit on for random guys on the streets to comment on it. I don't care about their opinion. Whenever somebody states this issue, rednecks be like: "Well you asked for it! You put this revealing outfit!" I didn't put it for you, you idiot! It is even rude to stare, not to mention the catcalling. And when the catcalling comes from young guys 15-25 then it is NOT THAT CREEPY. If that's a decent compliment and not so bad, we might be even flattered a bit. Just MIGHT! But the bigger the age difference is, the more disgusting it gets. Especially 30+ guys. Why can't you find a girl your own age? And there are plenty of gorgeous women that are their age. It is so innapropriate and perverted to catcall a kid. And even though I am sexually active and everythng, I AM A KID. I am freackin 19! And the guys is like 35. Even when I am 30 and he be 46, it will still be as innapropriate as it is today. Not to mention the disgusting old farts who are 40+ and sometimes even in their 50s and older who scream at the top of their lungs and whistle. That makes me feel so bad, to the point where I feel guilty as if I gave them any indication that I might be interested in them, wich I ofcourse, didn't!!! But I know that I cannot let them ruin my day or make me avoid certain dressing styles or certain streets... I always take a deep breath and try to be brave and go my way, but that always affects me. In fact, have you seen that the biggest percentage of kidnapers, rapists and abusers are old fat farts, so whenever I pass a group of them I feel really scared for my safety, one time the screams were so innapropriate that I peed in my pants out of fear. So, bottom line is: girls, be vocal about what bothers you and guys, if u r old, stop catcalling us and hitting on us!

That's what happens when you live in a multicultural society. Altough you've probably never experienced a european society, so you probably won't know that catcalling is not the norm.

Isn't catcalling rude no matter who is doing it? An asshole at 18 may still be one at 80. Though you would expect older guys to be more mature that that. What you are saying is the same as saying it's OK when hot guys do it, but not ugly guys.
I don't think guys of ANY age catcall because they expect the girl to go home with them. So your point is kind of irrelevant.
Personally I've found that age point to be a big issue. Young guys catcall because they think it's cool and they're trying to look like big alpha males (a silly concept). Older guys in my experience tend to be creepier because they should know better - and often they seem to get off on making women feel creeped out, like it's some sort of sick power game.
@SunsetStar Personally I've never understood it. A while back I was driving and came upon a couple women I worked with ( and was friendly enough to joke around with) out walking to get in shape for the breast cancer charity walk. I whooped at them... and the guy in the car behind me did the same thing. It was very strange, like he was joining in what he initially perceived as an intimidation of women.
I have to say you may think 40 is old but you'll be there in a blink I'm 42 can run a marathon and I'm the fittest I've ever ! been cat calling isn't polite from any age. A simple hi or good morning is all that is required, 40 isn't old though
Depends on the situation. Or rather what the guy says, how he says it, and the intention behind it.
Actually it doesn't really bother me at all. It's harmless at the end of the day & I can easily just walk on without letting something petty like that get to me.

Just a thought that accured to me right now, when I saw your "the helping girl" emoji. Why isn't there "a helping guy emoji?" Because girls are there to serve? Just like they changed the emojis to have homosexual couples and people of all skin colors, they should change the emojis that make girls submissive like this.

I agree with you 100%. I don't do that to anybody even before reading this. It's not professional, it's not respectful, it's not gentlemanly; really it's just plain ridiculous.

Why don't you realize that both old and young men are human beings can date and have attraction to who they want if you dont like them reject them come down to earth from wherever high placed you think you are in your heart.
If only girls thought as maturely as you do... guys like me would get a chance... and not the riffraff. Unfortunately, as a few here have said: many girls go for that kinda thing. The media portrays such "men" as alpha, with men with class are referred to as beta.

I personally won't do it, I think it's much better to actually go and talk to them, if they look like they won't mind being talked to. No approach is perfect, you will get shot down sometimes and I think flirting can make both parties feel good even if you don't do anything more than that.
