Why is such importance put on sex?

I am not trying to generalize, but majority of men value women by how much sexual partners they had and how fast they give in. If a woman had many sexual partners and gives in fast, she is labeled as a slut and not a relationship material. And women do the same; if a man rushes sex he is seen as wanting only sex. Basically people with high libido who can separate emotions from sex are not taken serious. If a man approaches with sex invitation he is asshole-shamed, if a woman reciprocates she is slut-shamed. And because of this everyone has invented some "rules": women play hard to get and men lie to get it. Why can't we all just agree that sex is a physical satisfaction not only meant for reproduction? If we all had sex whenever we wanted with whomever we wanted without being judged, I think everyone would be honest and happier.
I am sick of having to hold back having sex just so a man wouldn't think I'm a slut and leave me. I have a very high sex drive and I can have it without emotions, expectations. I don't value a man by how fast we had sex. If there is chemistry on the first date, why the hell wouldn't we have sex and then continue getting to know each other? My personality, loyalty, honesty, integrity and values have absolutely nothing to do with my sex drive. Sex is no key to anyone's heart! No one guarantees that just because a man waited x amount of months to get it is loyal relationship material, and same goes for woman. And vice versa, just because someone gave in right away doesn't mean they are not relationship material!
I don't know, I just hate people who are so judgmental about sex when in fact sex has no value at all.
This ranting came out because I recently had sex with someone who said he was looking for serious (as me) and then he dumped me saying "You contradict yourself, you say you want serious but you jumped on me right away. I see what you're all about, just admit it".
