I don't think it's about getting permission or control. A woman can obviously decide to go to the club wearing whatever she wants but if the man she is dating is not comfortable with the outfit then she has the choice of changing or leaving the man. It can go the other way also if a man wants to do something that the woman he is dating is not okay with then the woman has a choice of leaving him if he doesn't respect her choice. A committed relationship will always have compromises and boundaries that each side has to respect to work. The most extreme example would be cheating if your partner is not okay with you sleeping with someone else and you do then its the same issue as going out wearing something your partner is uncomfortable about. Just at a different level.
