Would you have unprotected sex if you were using birth control?

If you were in a relationship and you were on birth control or the girl was on birth control, would you still use condoms? Why or why not? I am on birth control but my boyfriend and I still use condoms bc I’m paranoid lol. There can still be sperm in precum. What do you guys think?

  • I already am on birth control pills with no condoms. I suppose we aren’t THAT afraid if I end up pregnant because we’ve both come to a mutual decision of taking responsibility if it so happens. Certainly not ideal what so ever if it happened but not end of the world kind of thing because we know we are taking a risk and that’s our decision at the end of the day.

  • Yeah, I'm more than fine with that. But I only go unprotected once I'm in a serious committed relationship and both the current person I'm dating and myself have been checked and given then thumbs up, as well as I'm going steady on the pill.

  • I didn't when I was on birth control in my last relationship. I thibk as long as you're not worried about stds the likelihood of getting pregnant if you're using birth control correctly is extremely low

  • If I were in a relationship and we both had STI checks and both had the all clear then I wouldn't use a condom

  • An ex and I used condoms despite her being on the pill cuz I was paranoid. One time I was just swept away and forgot and nothing happened at all. I learned It's not fair to put the girl through the side effects of the pill if you just gunna do condoms anyways. If you put that much more faith in the condom then quit the pill.

  • i think the idea of using condom is good, unless you both are ready for the kid or want one in the near future. And considering your age, might be better to use condom since most people your age aren't ready to have kid, both mentally and financially.

  • I have an IUD and my boyfriend and I are both free of STDs, so we rarely use condoms.

  • I can't wear condoms. I can never stay hard with them. So, even if she isn't on birth control, I'd still have unprotected sex. But I'd make sure it was with someone I was willing to accept the potential outcome with.

  • There was never a time before I got married that I had unprotected sex. To me, it's better without a condom, physically and I guess it's more intimate... But you know the risks. Always protect Numero Uno!

  • You have to take chances in life. IF you’re on with control, you shouldn’t be fooling around with someone if you don’t trust them to be STD free in the first place.

  • Yes but wearing a condom just to be extra safe isn't an issue. It probably won't make too much of a difference but if it makes you feel safer then go ahead.

  • I've been in a handful of committed relationships, and after a while, we've always stopped using condoms.

Provided she is on some form of birth control, obviously. Unless we were actively trying for a child, of course.

  • Let’s be honest. Sex feels better without a condom on. But they protect against a whole lot more than pregnancy. But knowing that my girlfriend and I are both clean we don’t always use them when it’s just the two of us. When we have someone else joining in I always use them and even switch between girls.

  • The only time I'd be having unprotected sex is if I'm trying to have a baby

  • I hate condoms. I won't sleep with anyone or many people. If I want a casual hook up or something I'd be super picket and hopefully he'd be someone who isn't sleeping with others. Just out of saftey concerns.

  • Well if you are scared of getting pregnant, then I would say it's a little overkill to both use the pill and condoms.
If you are scared of getting an STD, then I think you should get yourself a new boyfriend.

  • Depends, I would get us both checked before even thinking about going unprotected. Until then, I'll stick with them both if I were sexually active.

  • Depends on what birth control. If it's the pill, I would use a condom. If it was an IUD or depo then I wouldn't use one.

  • Good, you're smart. I would as well. Birth control isn't 100% so the more "protection" the better. There's also STI's unless you know he's clean?

  • I got a girl pregnant when she was on the pill. Wrap your guy!

  • Better safe than sorry. But me personally I'd raw dog it and cross my fingers lol

  • I go bare because it feels good knowing that there's no barrier between me and her. For me it's a mental thing. But if you're not sure that he or you are not std/sti free, always use a condom.

  • No I would not use condoms

  • Well depends what birth control method you use. Some are still not 100% effective

  • I could give you a better opinion if I knew what kind of birth control you are using

    • The pill

  • I respect the wishes of my partner. I know about my vasectomy, but the lady has no proof.
