I've not been fired nor have my company talked to me about it, it was just something I heard. I'm a dentist for those wondering

  • It really depends on the company, location, environment and interaction with their customers.

Say for example your job is sales for a car company, insurance or even real estate, or something that requires heavy face to face interaction to build a rapport with a client to close and get commission and business. If you had an OnlyFans that got out and was made known to the public, it could look bad on not just you, but the company as well.

A company may not want a woman who has explicit photos of herself being sold to potential clients or looking like this because it could lose business, reputation or attract the wrong kind of clients because of one individual. They may not want a representative who is a big presence in the company with this because of perception. The individual and company may not be taken seriously because OnlyFans can make her come off as an easy slut/whore doing something a lot of women are now doing in an oversaturated market online instead of the flipside of the argument where you have empowerment and advertising sex as a tool. It all really boils down to business promotion and goals.

Now say you worked as an independent contractor or entertainer like at a strip club or something like that. Then that would be a more appropriate market because that is what OnkyFans is known for now. It is self promotion in a sex industry where your presence and social media attracts the true clientele and would bring them to the club to see you, but also exposes clients to other strippers in the club.

Bear in mind this is just the hypothetical with OnlyFans, here. Not counting how you can get fired for just having different political views or opinions nowadays. Hopefully this answers your question.

  • No, but only under certain circumstances. I will say it's only wrong if the employee's OnlyFans is made public and everyone knows that person on there also works for the day job. If it's private or secret and doesn't embarrass the company, only then do I think it's wrong to fire someone for what they do in their private life, off-work.

OnlyFans is a joke and full of some of the laziest and narcissistic people in society right now. Being on there or having an employee on there will bring massive shame to any company (not involved in sex work) and tank their stock value. It's no worse than finding out your doctor moonlights as a prostitute, or your kids teacher is secretly a porn star. And this is coming from someone who supports sex work (but not OnlyFans; that's too lazy to even count as sex work). So yeah, if one of your employees is found out to be a part of such a messed-up website and is exploiting pathetic men for money and enabling their addiction, then I completely agree they deserve to be fired from their day job. It's not like they really need it anyway if they'd choose an OnlyFans over it.

And as @disgustingweebtrash rightfully pointed out, companies can fire you over personal opinions and politics, which is far less damaging to that company's brand than being a shameless e-whore taking advantage of men who lack self-respect. I can see the pros and cons of firing someone over politics the same way as I can over them being pseudo sex workers, but the damage OnlyFans trash brings to a company is far more cut and dry.

Pick a job and stick to it. And if you're going to be on OnlyFans, keep it private from your day life. If you don't, you have no right to complain when you potentially cost a company thousands or millions of dollars and jeopardize other people's jobs, as well.

    • Yeah OnlyFans is terrible, at least escorting you have to put some work in to earn your bread LOL

  • It depends on your state. I live in ohio, an "at will" state, so I can be fired for any reason or no reason at all and I can't do anything about it unless it is against any discrimination laws. But I wouldn't think so.

  • Depends on your job/career. I think as a dentist that you might well get fired if its discovered.

  • Tbh I'm not sure, I mean I assume that if it did not interfere with your line of work, in any way. I would say it's wrong

  • Depends on the circumstances. Generally, as long as she's not advertising or soliciting at work, I think it's wrong to fire her but it would depend on things like the nature of the business, the clientele, etc.

  • Yes ;). See them in court if they lose

  • No, if they want to have a certain image and they find out your doing that and it goes against the image they are trying to sell i. e. they don't want a pornstar as a kindergarten teacher, then that is perfectly reasonable. That is a risk you have to take when you sell sex on the internet, you have exposed yourself to the world and some times people are not going to want to associate with that (just like you have the right to not associate with them).

  • Why would you need one if you are a dentist? it's inappropriate.

  • Its a tough call, but I would say yes it is merit to be terminated.

What you do on social media matters, and OnlyFans is a form of social media that can be very negative. OnlyFans is not empowering to women and not good for society, it is leading women into becoming damaged goods as it is basically a form of sex work.

    • The other guy blocked you, chat in here.

  • No.

Though it depends on circumstances. There have been teachers who were fired for being escorts, for example.

  • Depending on your job (in your case Dentist, which deals with the public) if it makes the company look bad in some way, they could. In general probably they won't though?

  • That's super wrong. That's there own time, but i also find them stalking your social media wrong too really.

  • What kind of stuff are you posting on line?
If you are posting half naked or naked stuff of yourself... I'd be ok with you getting fired from a dental position... if it is someone else's practice.

  • I’d say so

  • Yeah I consider that wrong personally.

    • Same

  • As an employee you are also a representative of the company. So I wouldn't necessarily say it is wrong. But I also wouldn't call it right, because I think it's none of the employers business what someone does in private. It's a tricky one for sure.

  • It is none of the company's business what you do on your own time.

  • I'd say that depends on the profession that they're working in, but normally I'd say it's wrong.

  • Eat shit bimbo. Anyone can fire anyone for any reason. If you think you have legal standing, hire a lawyer.

  • That's totally fucked up. If he is offended by that what the hell was he doing looking at it/.

  • I have no issues firing someone that has only fans. I would fire if they were a prostitute or a stripper or an escort too. My company has a reputation of integrity, and the customers i deal with would leave my company if they found out that i employ that kind of person.

    • And to give an example. I work with an IT firm, who deals with Accountants, banks, and government agencies, as well as law enforcement. If my clients found out that i was employing a sex worker i would lose millions in revenue. The cheaper option is to fire her, And to those saying they would see the employer in court. There is no court in the US that would side with you. Every single state in this country is at will employment, Which means the employer can terminate your employment for any reason, or no reason at all as long as it was not for reasons of race, gender, age or sexual orientation. Having a side job where if it were made public and my clients ended their contracts with me because of it costing me millions in the process, is absolutely worth terminating someone who only makes about 50k annually.

  • Not wrong... Some people don't have that culture to be ok with something like that

  • Sounds like a stupid reason to fired someone
