Is 17 too old to be a virgin?

I'm turning 17 next month. I'm still a virgin because I'm super picky about guys and I want it to be something special. Is that embarassing or is it normal?

I am 17 and I am virgin as well and I'm proud of it because I haven't found the right guy in my life to lose my virginity with. There's nothing wrong with it honestly I'm fine with being a virgin and I plan on saving my virginity with someone special. My ex wanted to have sex with me a baby of course at 17 while we were dating but I didn't do it because I knew if I did he would've left me of course and I would have had to take care of my child on my own which wouldn't be easy. Don't be so hard on yourself about being a virgin nothing's wrong with it. I'm glad I didn't lose my virginity to him after all, cause you know how some of them are. Sometimes I feel to old even though I am not. Just because everyone else is losing there virginity doesn't mean you have to as well. It may seem like everyone is doing it but in reality they aren't. Wait till you find the right guy in your life, that treats you right and won't sweet talk you or anything, and will love you and care for you etc. Don't just lose it to just anybody. I'm in HS and I'm a virgin and don't really mind it honestly I'm saving it for when I go to college or when I'm married. I would save mine for marriage if I was you, but its all up to you. Just don't lose it with someone that you think loves you and then later in life you regret it.

Well considering I'm going to be 17 in exactly 5 more months... I don't think so.

Your virginity is something you should honor. Now I'm not going to necessarily say hat you should wait until macro age hat is up to you, but I do believe your first time should be special shared with someone you really care about.

I actually take pride in being a virgin for several reasons and I'm not giving it up until I'm ready and the time is right. As for giving it up if you're a certain age that's a horrible reason.

You're just going to be 17 you're still young. you don't have to rush things just because others aren't virgins anymor. I know how you feel at 17 i was always asking the same thing but its better to wait, believe me I'm 19 now I'll be 20 in a cuple of months and I've seen many girls regreting giving thiers up even some guys so wait and enjoy life.

No, not at all!! You are perfectly normal, and you should want your first to be special! I didn't find 'the one' until 23, and that is like 'HORRIFIC' for guys, and to admit it!!! We didn't last, but I don't regret waiting. I never wanted an 'accidental baby', and an unexpected marriage because of a child.
Take your time, and you don't need to tell anyone. It is your private feelings. Let them think what they want, and just trust, and believe that you are doing what you want, waiting for the 'right' one!
I heard from my niece (14 years old) that being a virgin is 'cool' and they actually signed something, saying that they were committed to being a virgin. I think that's good, and too many young women get pressured into it, only to be left, confused, and sometimes pregnant. Don't do that.

There is nothing wrong with being a virgin at 17. You should be picky when it comes to sex. You only have one body and you only loose your virginity once in your live. So make it count. Don't ever settle. I lost mine when I was 17 in the bathroom of my high school auditorium. It was pretty bad to be honest. We almost got caught by the janitor. It should be memorable but in a good way.

although there is peer pressure into having sex as soon as its legal, its not actually weird or unusual to wait anymore. In my group of friends there are six of us between the ages of 18 and 19 and out of us only one guy has had sex and he didn't have sex until he was 18, so no, it isn't the norm to have sex early

Take your time. Remember you can only loose your virginity once. Make sure it is the right guy in the right place (not the back seat of a car) at the right time. Enjoy your time with the guy, make sure you really like him and make sure he will be gentle with you. Don't forget condoms when the time does come.

Absolutely not. 17 is not too old. But don't worry about what age is too young or too old & just make sure you are comfortable with the person you lose it to & that you actually have feelings for them.
