  • Hell no! The reason is this: First off it is a silly, bronze-age religious ritual and secondly, there is a large amount of evidence that shows we lose a TON of nerve endings. Men can also have the tip of their penis get dried up, cracked, or "Frayed" at the edges. Especially after lots of masturbation during your teen years and throughout your life, even with lubes.

Okay, I'll say it, smegma, girls produce 30% more than guys, so this should NOT be an issue. You keep clean, and it won't be. We live in a 1st world country, most of us, and even thsoe of us that don't can stil largely bathe every day. Safe sex and you won't risk infection. Also, I wish I had my foreskin back, I've heard from several women who have had both say that they like the feeling of an uncircumcised d*** better. I have heard a few say the opposite, though.

Finally, there are accidents in circumcision, and for decades it has been very painful, in many areas it still is, yes there are safer methods. But I've seen a few and the babies cry and cry and cry. It's very traumatic for them. It's also wrong. Iti s wrong to take a part of the human body off of someone when they are completely incapable of making the decision one way or another. If a man wants to get it done late,r let him! There are getting more and more advanced at doing it, and it can be done realtively painlessly, they can put you under, etc. Getting the foreskin back, however, is much more of an issue. Although there are some ways to do it now. Check out Penn and Teller's Bullsh*t! episode (at topdocumentaryfilms.com) on circumcision, I think it's season 3. Not sure though. Anyway, it's simply wrong to commit unecessary surgery (even minor as this) on a human being who hasn;t the choice. It's wrong.

It also makes sex far less pleasurable, it makes pre-mature ejaculation much more likely in some cases, and the tip of the penis is meant to have that skin protecting it. I know I wish I had my foreskin protecting it. Most girls who really care about you or who want to f*** you won't give a sh*t, even if they say they do. If they really won't have sex with you because you have a foreskin, dump the broad. It'd be like saying "oh your lips are big or the skin of your clit bothers me, you need that surgery that gets all that looking nice and pretty" I mean how shallow arewe? For f***'s sake...

    • link references!

  • Yes I would, the girls don't understand and freak out about "mutilation" but it really isn't.

Every circumcised guy I know loves it and is glad that their parents did it and that they don't have to go through it at a later age.

    • I find it funny that all the females seem to know what men want or feel like... have you been the owner of a circumcised penis? then don't make sh*t up about sensitivity loss

    • We aren't "making sh*t up" it's a fact. And to be honest, unless a guy has had a full experience with both circumcised and uncircumcised, anything he says will be pretty biased anyway.

    • I have been both I am 27 years old right now, I started having sex at 17 and got circumcised at 23 I can now last longer, pound faster and harder, easier to clean and cleaner in general. I hate that my parents didn't do it when I was born

  • Idk. Its seen as much healthier and if a doctor confirms that then probably, yes. Also its the norm in my country and I wouldn't want my son to feel insecure with girls here because he doesn't have a normal d*** and I wouldn't want him to have to go through the pain of experiencing it as a teen or adult. Ideally I would leave it up to choice but if I find from my medical professional that cleanliness and health are risks then its a definite yes. And I feel like my son would be pissed if I set him up to have to cut his d*** up at an adult age.

Hopefully I won't have sons anyway but this is a legit concern if I do

    • Having said that, "because its the norm" isn't usually a good argument for me. I'm against female mutilation or "circumcision " in the east and if someone were to say its right because its normal, I'd argue that I don't agree with that line of thought. So idk. If there really isn't any medical benefit then I wouldn't but I'd have to research it.

    • there is, circumcised guys are at a smaller risk for HPV and cancer

    • Don't listen to the QA, there is no medical benefit. It's bullsh*t studies that didn't prove anything.

  • No. But when they turn 16 I would offer it to them, because at that age I figure they could decide for themselves. The reason I would wait till 16 and not till 18 and they can do what they want is because circumcision can be expensive, and if they are 16 I could pay for it for them. Also because at that age they would most likely know whether they want to be or not. I don't think I can decide what is right for a baby boy who is yet to figure out the difference. I think he should be able to decide for himself.

    • OUCH I'm more happy that I had it done as a baby because I can't remember the procedure! lol

    • Yeah, but I mean if he really wanted it done, they numb it up and everything. I had a friend who's parents didn't circumcise him and he wanted it so he looked it all up. They have great numbing and healing things, but in the U.S. it ranges between $500 and $1500! I've thought this through with what I want to do with my children, ha ha (Don't think I haven't considered the before they can remember thing!)

    • @ the update. I am not for or against it, I am a female, I don't have a penis to decide which I think is "better". I don't know why people keep downing me, I'm letting the kid decide for himself!

  • I would let my husband decide. But if it came down to it I probably would.

*I DON'T CARE WHAT ANYONE THINKS OF MY OPINION. DON'T BOTHER COMMENTING WHETHER MALE OR FEMALE.

    • I support your opinion

    • So if your kid happens to die after or during circumcision (and circumcision is the reasoning) then clearly you'll blame only yourself, right?

  • Yeah, I'd circumcise my son, my partner would circumcise his so we both agree we would, it's just my opinion but I do respect and understand that other people would rather their son/s have foreskin, but in my opinion I'd circumcise my son.

I'm probably gonna get sh*t for this but I don't care!

    • You hate your child

  • No, I wouldn't. His body, his penis, his choice. His uncircumcised (probably future) daddy would likely agree with me.

  • I wouldn't because it is genital mutilation. also it decreases the amount of pleasure men have during sex. When you have foreskin you have a lot more sensitivity when erect. I doubt that guys would care what women thought about their penis at first if they knew that they would have a better overall experience if they were uncut. To me its the equivalent to having women get their clits cut off. I personally like uncircumcised guys and I'm from the U.S to me it looks better.

  • i've heard that blowjobs are more fun for guys when they are not circumsized. Also, it's not really neccessary, so why do it?

On the other hand, I've only ever been with circumsized guys and really like it.

  • I voted no, but if their father wanted them circumcised, I wouldn't care. I don't feel that strongly about it either way, honestly.

  • No. I wouldn't do that because I think it's pointless and circumcision has no purpose...IMO

    • @update: that's bull sh*t QA. Everyone is insulting everyone. I see plenty of pro-circumcision people insulting others too so...yeah whatever.

    • no they're not lol they simply state that they would circumcise their baby (what the question asked) and all you crazies went off on them

    • Umm look again genious. I see everyone insulting everyone. You're obviously just biased. You've expressed that very well here...

    • Show All
  • I would let my husband decide that.

  • Probably, it's generally the norm in the US and there are actually some health risks that can arise when left uncircumcised. There is also an increased risk of cancer in men who are circumcised post infancy so it's best to get it out of the way early.

    • Show All
  • No way, I'm not going to mess with that,

if it was needed doctors would make it mandatory

    • It's not necessary, but proven to be beneficial tin the long run. Doctors were actually thinking of making it mandatory before this whole debate came along.

  • Possibly. But really, I just came here because I smelled controversy :)

    • the people against circumcision are like a cult man lol

    • Ha I know right. Dead baby jokes don't get this kind of attention.

  • i wouldnt. its there for a reason and it makes guys ultra senstive down there so better sex for him when he grows up. plus I work in the mother baby unit and see it all the time. not the greatest site lol

  • No. It's pointless and cruel. It's not my choice whether my son has a little extra skin or not, nor is it anyone else's for their children. If he wants it cut, he can get it cut, but that would be HIS choice, not mine.

Plus if you get circumcised you lose a lot of feeling there because the skin has to toughed up without protection. Pointless.

    • @Update: He's ONE guy. His opinion, not matter how educated, should not be dictation for what we should all think. So he likes being cut, a man in the same situation may have preferred uncut.

    • yes but he is proving all of you wrong about sensitivity

    • No he's not. We have all said you lose some sensitivity, which is true. Whether he felt a large difference or not, nerve endings were lost causing some loss of sensitivity.

    • Show All
  • without a doubt, no question about it. cause I've met people who wish they were circumsized when they werent but never the other way around. and that would suck to have to get it done when you are old enough to actually know what's going on. and really I just think its cleaner and better in general

    • exactly! I've met guys who were uncut and said they want to get it cut or wish they were but never the other way around

    • theres some haters out there, but at least we are on the same page haha

    • It's not cleaner to be cut. That depends on if you wash or not.

    • Show All
  • I would not, because every man is born with the foreskin, so, I think that there is a good purpose for it. It serves as protection against whatever comes near the penis from external sources. But, it's his decision (When he is old enough). I would still say "No" if he ever asks for my opinion.

  • NO, I wouldn't because I don't believe in putting my own child through unecessary pain that could potentially ruin his life for no additional health benefit, i.e David Riemer and the 10,000 recorded deaths annually. The US is one of the only first world countries that still practice this old tradition that was originally focused on stopping men from masterbating (which hasn't worked...) 80% of the world currently are uncut and I believe you should give teh child the choice.

I have never heard a girl here complain about a guy being uncut because that is the norm, most are freaked out by a cut one because its completely something they are not used to while it is the opposite in the US (although the rate of circumcision has been reducing rapidly over the years there). I believe some people still link the moral to do it based behind the idea that they are doing their chidl a "deed", an uncut penis is almost impossible I found to not clean even without washing that particular area, I mean if a guy is a dirty f*** by default and he gets a circumcision to get cleaning, you think his penis gonna be different than him?.

The belief that being uncut means you have greater chance of catching an STD is seriously stupid, I mean I am not planning on having sex with someone with HIV, if you want to take the risk than its your fault. they think uncut have a greater chance just because the forskin will hold it, well if your dumb enough to have sex without a condom with a random girl on the street than your very likely to get it either way

I also find it disgusting that parents put their child through such a horrible unneccessary procedure that is completely not needed, 1 in 10,000 kids die from this annualy. If it was my child I wouldn't want to risk his life over something so unneccessary, if you have ever heard of David Reimer who was a healthy child who's parents decided to circumcize him as a baby. His penis got mutilated beyong repair and had to be removed. He was raised as a female and committedd suicide at the age of 38.

link Fast forward to 9:48 if you won't watch the whole thing, the process of circumcision is barberic and see for yourself what they go through, you want your child to have the same thing done?

Also take a look at this to see the rise of circumcision in America and how studies confirm no benefit and how it was reducing in comparison to the rest of the world link

The fact that you are asking this will not give very justified answers, most guys will just carry on the cycle because they are circumcised themself to make their child the same, a cut guy can't speak from the perspective of a guy who was uncut to say they have lost thousands of nerve endings that are in the foreskin and why its best to cut because they haven't had it

    • I don't think QA would agree, but best answer here

    • easily the best answer, but because you put thought and effort with facts and are against the QA's barbaric mindset you obviously won't get it.

    • Its actually a copy and paste mostly from another answer lol, but it applies here so thanks

    • Show All
  • to all the people who answered you can't base your opinions on what your child wants, he may love it but he may also hate it, if he's in the latter what are you going to say sorry?

The medical benefits are poor, if he's a clean guy it will be clean

Girls need to stop putting there preferences for what they like into consideration, maybe just be more accepting of something instead of having it surgically removed, just listen to that logic

If your religious or do it for 'real' medical problems like phimosis then go ahead but don't automatically assume your child would want it for the other reasons

Thank god I live in the UK where it isn't widely practiced

No. And anyone who does is a horrible human being. If they want to get a circumcision themselves later, sure, but to hell with your stupidity thinking it's ok.

    • Wanna last longer? Practice and learn to hold it back. Some stupid people, yep. Think it looks better? You're a shallow idiot. It's medically better for you? Ah no... foreskin is actually better because well it was created TO protect the penis from infection when we didn't wear clothes and whatnot. ATm there's no difference. It's cleaner? Depends on the guy. As long as the guy cleans in general, it's fine.

    • @update: Trying to educate the people, dipsh*t. You retards who are for circumcision are barbaric. You won't even listen to the other side obviously. I've read the studies on both sides and all the studies the "pro circumcision" groups use are outdated and generally regarded as not true or poor studies. The health organizations of the world generally don't suggest circumcision for any reasons you've listed. They don't say don't do it, but they say it doesn't offer ANY benefits. Idiot.

    • Your video is full of a bunch of lies. The procedure is not traumatic at all, and babies don't even remember the cut. The health benefits outweigh the risks AND it's a religious practice. Why ban it? And they keep saying in the video circumcision is where you "cut your d*** off" and "genetic mutilation.". That is not what happens. You're cutting off the foreskin not the d***!

    • Show All
  • Circumcision is a religious practice. Banning it is anti-semitic. The baby feels absolutely no pain and heals. Circumcision of a penis doesn't cut the penis off. You are taking off a piece of skin. It is a ritual. Like I said, banning it is going back to the old days, the Middle Ages, where people were discriminated against for being a certain religion. I thought we were more open-minded than that.

    • Circumcision is stupid and claiming it's anti-Semitic to ban it is also stupid. You're very ignorant and when people have presented evidence and fact of how it can be harmful (hell, people have posted how babies have DIED FROM CIRCUMCISION). You know it's a religious practice to circumcise girls in Africa ya? guess we can't ban that because it'd be discrimination. Btw, they didn't say to ban it in the video, they said only the person WITH the penis should have the choice...

    • And how the f*** can you be so stupid to think the baby doesn't feel it? Of course the f***ing baby feels it ffs! THEY HAVE A NERVOUS SYSTEM WORKING AT THE TIME AND STUDIES SHOW IT WORKS AT A GREATER AMOUNT THAN OUR ADULT NERVOUS SYSTEM! Your ignorance and unable to take ANY evidence that counters your beliefs ASTOUNDS me and disgusts me.
