Are there also other genre's of Japanese animation with some being more innocent and some more porn oriented?
I always see a lot of questions about Anime or Manga on GAG but unless they mention it I am never sure if they are talking about the innocent school girl version of it or the Porn version.
Is there a way to tell or should one always assume they are talking about the G-rated version unless the post says otherwise?

10 32It really depends. There is sexual anime out there. But most of the anime out there is like PG or PG13. Although a lot of Studio Ghibli films are G/PG rated (Princess Mononoke is PG 13 however). Most of the stuff on tv like Cowboy Bebop and Naruto Is like PG. Then again it really depends.
Anime a huge genre so it really can be both. One can be extremely innocent and the other one one photographic
It depends on which one you watch really. There are many Anime, Manga, animations and cartoons that can range from rated G to rated XXX. it just depends on which you want to see.

Anime is literally just Japanese cartoons.
Hentai is Japanese cartoon pornography.
The two are often lumped in with one another.
There's a good amount of pervyness in animr, even if it's not hentai, you can assume that innuendo was meant to be. :3

There's a difference between anime and hentai, hentai is anime porn pretty much, but I don't blame you for not knowing the difference honestly.
So much anime is unnecessarily sexualized, you'd be watching normal scenes when extreme perverted erotic scenes pop out of nowhere in ways that make no sense, the characters are sometimes barely dressed for no reason at all, sometimes the whole plot gets messed up just because they wanted to add such scenes in the dumbest ways possible.
And don't get me started on the characters and how badly written and illogical they can be just for the sake of more sexualization.
Which is why I stopped watching it, not because I'm Christian, but because I don't like watching bad shows lol

Sex comedy has nothing to do with comedy lmao, they try hard and they fail, it's just fap material for most of its viewers
There is such a wide variety of anime ratings. There are tons of G rated ones and there are also many pg and R rated. If you want to know the rating, you can go on myanimelist and it'll normally tell you
Anime can definitely be R rated, but not in the sense that you are thinking. It can tackle very deep, and violent themes that are too intense for a younger audience. But it can also be childish and fun. In western terms: it can range from spongebob to south park plus some.
Hentai is the other R rated idea that you're assuming is anime (which is totally understandable). Depending on the anime you're watching, anime can be suggestive but nothing like hentai -- and the suggestive parts usually have something to do with the plot of the story.

Manga is comics and hentai is porn. Anime ranges from the innocent to the x-rated; most of it is PG-13 though.
