It's certainly possible. Even highly accomplished people can have feelings of inadequacy (look up "Imposter Syndrome"). It's hard to imagine anyone of high intelligence feeling entirely competent to be POTUS.
Of course, sex with anyone can be to lower your standards I mean anxiety.

I don't know he obviously could be lying and fake and being manipulative.
He really needed to learn better coping mechanisms, because I imagine that cheating may actually exacerbate anxiety instead of alleviating it.
i believe he abused his power then and still does; Lewinsky took all the backlash for him on the affair and now he sprouts nonsense to media/ general public without any shame or remorse.
