Did you know there are trans people who want to go back to being straight?

Apparently this is called trans regret. A video about it showed up in my YouTube feed like a week ago and I watched it. There are trans folks who years later regret getting a sex change, and this one 'lady' in the video was saying that trying to turn back into a man would just not be the same and that the new penis wouldn't even feel as good as the real thing.

There were other videos on this subject, I had no idea it was that real.

What Girls & Guys Said

  • Yup. It’s sad.

  • Apparently the numbers are on the rise.

  • People tend to romanticize things, sometimes to the point of obsession. Just some of those 'be careful what you wish for' warnings from those who wished too hard I guess.

  • Yes, because they're not a man trapped in a woman's body, they were trick into believing their cross dressing fetish makes them a woman. All it is is a sexual fetish but they were confused because their therapist or teacher telling them they are a girl.

  • That doesn’t surprise me.

  • Exactly why sex change procedures are so immoral to allow for minors.

  • It is getting pretty complicated these days.
Are they are they not, what to call others, you need an hourly memo just to keep up with the changes.
For those undecided, wait until you figure things out before you get involved.
It makes it easier on the other person.

  • What does trans have to do with being gay?

  • Who would have expected that.
I can't pity these guys. I did not tell them to do what they did.
Fucked up? Yes. But it's THEIR problem - not mine.

  • Maybe I'm missing something but aren't gender identify and sexuality two different things?

  • An "FTM" person has a real advantage over an "MTF" person. You can easily pass and be accepted as a man without any genital or other bodily transformations as long as your breasts are not too large. The lack of a penis, body hair, and facial hair are not noticeable or disqualifying features in any circumstances.

    • An "FTM" person can easily experience living as a man in all respects except sexual intercourse and standing to pee. Standing to pee is not that great or essential, and neither that or sexual intercourse are necessary requirements.

  • First off, its a gender not a sexuality.
Second there are people who have plastic surgery and regret it. That doesn't mean we should get rid of plastic surgery. You are clearly just against trans people and grasping at straws.

    • Just sharing what I watched.

  • Yes I knew this was a thing.
but let’s not let the small percent of people who regretted transitioning, take away validation from other trans people

  • Yes, I'd heard about this.

  • Yes, and its the strangest thing that they get their accounts shut down, they're no longer invited onto peoples shows, and interviews, Reddit threads on the topic get shut down, twitter accounts get banned. Its SO weird! It reminded me of Kermit Gosnell. Any mention of what a NOT safe, and legal abortion looks like? *POOF* The crazy only flows in one direction.

    NO REFUNDS, OR TAKE BACKSIES
    NO REFUNDS, OR TAKE BACKSIES
  • Certainly. The are finally realizing it is not natural. Just saw an article about a female, who was being "changed" into a male's plumbing, everything went south, she's going back to normal femaleship.

  • No, I've never cared for any of this. What they want to believe is one thing but I don't have to cater to what I view as mental illness. I get that people disagree with me but rejecting reality is a serious issue in my opinion. I don't feel the need to dictate to others on the other hand either.

  • What? Transgender isn't a sexuality it's a gender problem, people Transition because they're born in the wrong body and transition to correct this, a trans person can still be gay, bi, or lesbian. People de-transition back to their birth gender because well that I don't know.

  • I think about Heather Swanson

  • I would think there will be a certain percentage of people who transition and then regret it, or realize "this is not what I thought it would be". I wouldn't think every person who does is perfectly happy with their decision. Wait about 20 years and see how much "tattoo regret" there is !!!

    • Dude! I have literally been thinking that tattoo thing for the last several years now myself! I have ZERO tats, but I notice sooooooooo many people in this generation have them and I've wondered if later on in life will they regret getting the whole sleeves and stuff done. I mean, hey, it's their choice and I respect it and don't have anything to say about it, but for me personally I'm not into it and it is super unattractive when women have tatts, particularly sleeves or large area ones.

    • Oh yeah... wait till the ones who tatted their tits up start to sag and discolor. It's not going to be pretty.

    • Oooooooooh daaaayum.
