Back in the day if a women was promiscuous it meant that there was a possibility that she was carrying some other dude's baby. The man would end up chucking out resources and time for some kid that is not his. What every man wants on an instinctual level is to pass on HIS genetic material. Most men are willing to put in the sacrifice of time , energy , and resources if he knows that those kids are HIS ; they are carrying his DNA. If a women is sleeping around there was always the chance that the guy was taking care of some other dudes' spawn.
I think that this is the reason that men tend to abhor promiscuous women. IT may not always make logical sense but I think it an instinct that results from several hundred thousand years of biological evolution ( just like women are hard wired to attach themselves to men with resources) . There is a reason why many women will sleep around but will lie about their body count when they meet a man whom they think is legit husband material. If he finds out she has been the village bicycle he will kick her to the curb like a used diaper. Here is an example from my own life:

Yes, men typically do not like promiscuous women, with varying intensity. This an unconscious feeling that a lot of men have. We do not know for sure why that is, but everybody is giving a guess. So here is mine:
Men and women were made to exist around each other. They complement each other. So everything men are good at women are typically not good at and vice versa, that way both genders can support all aspects of life between them. And (excuse me for starting the sentence with conjunction) for that men have an inherent responsibility towards women. So, when a woman becomes promiscuous, it hurts a man emotionally.
If you want to abuse and hurt any man that cares about you, be promiscuous.
