Do you believe in "bros before hoes"/"chicks before dicks"?

Both of these phrases mean that you generally prioritize your same-gender friends, over relationships with the opposite gender. Do you subscribe to this?

  • Whenever my friends have tried the bros before hoes card on me, I've explained to them your offering me cock or pussy, I'm rolling with the pussy unless it's life or death shit.

  • Let's be serious, you don't marry your friends...

  • Petty petty petty... It all the bullshit head games ... thats why i don't play that grade school. Mentality. Shit...
Nor have any friends that do... Isn't LIFE. Tough enough without getting caught up in Soap opera Drama...

  • You won't be a higher priority over my Bros until you wifey

  • I used to believe in that, but I don't anymore because I'm grown up now.

  • Honor your friends but also honor your partner. Everyone needs to learn balance in these things. Dont keep constantly dropping your friends for your date but dont drop your date for your friends. Your friends were first so make it clear you're still around for stuff.

  • When I hear these phrases I don't think of them as prioritizing same gender friends. Rather I see them both as a statement of unwillingness to ditch a friend for some random.

  • No, people will always do whats in their best interest

  • People will say friends before a girlfriend or boyfriend but their actions say another thing. So people's words mean nothing. Most people will betray their friends for some sex or a relationship.

  • No. Not really. I think whoever I trust the most, that's who gets my best. Whether it be a strong woman that got my back. Are my homeboy... I dont subscribe to these trends and social norms.

  • I do but it's mostly because I don't hang with hoes.

by the way I'm not saying all women are hoes, I'm referring hoes as in... well hoes.

  • No... i need balance.

  • Not Necessarily

  • Of course ha it’s apart of the bro code

  • I believe in friends before assholes, chicks or bros.

  • If the situation calls for it. If I have two differently gendered friends who fall out, without any reason to pick a side, I will offer support to the male friend. That doesn't mean that I'm about to forsake a female friend just because a male friend has an issue with her. Or that I'm going to choose my friends over any partner.

Generally, this notion is just an excuse for people to better befriend the group of their own gender. Saying "bros before hoes" to a friend who has been messed about by said girl aligns them to you subconsciously.

  • Within reason.

  • I don't believe it.

  • Twice that subject in the same week?

  • Pussy comes first
