Do you get uncomfortable watching a gay scene on TV?

Homosexuality is a very debated topic and film and TV makers are constantly making it okay - after all it's our culture now. But the amount of times you see an actor or actress asked if s/he minds going against personal sexual preference for a scene... I'm wondering how many viewers get uncomfortable. I've always been a believer of regardless of sex, I'm here to enjoy a show not get horny. When it comes to the public, I don't want to see a straight, bi, or gay couple get super intimate with me. Gays do not bother me, but super intimate scenes of anyone make me clench with a "... really?" So, are you out off by gays and bis being shown on the big screen, enjoy it, or just on the fence?
Yes I do, creeps me out

What Girls & Guys Said

  • I like seeing girls kissing or doing stuff but I hate watching guys do the same things. I figure it's my prerogative.

  • same sex kissing no i could care less. the simulation of sex , no i wouldn't watch it,

  • The correct answer for me would be:
"Yes, but it doesn't creep me out"

  • I change the channel usually. I don't like watching any sex scenes so I fast forward through them. That type of movie I don't really watch anyway but often it doesn't seem to matter. I want to get to the good parts. I never watch anything when it's on cuz I hate commercials too. I have everything I like to watch set to my dvr then I watch it the next day.

  • Girl on girl scenes have been on TV for a very long time. Only in recent years are we starting to see more male on male action and I'm not complaining. I'm actually happy that we're finally seeing more penises on TV and in movies. Producers are always willing to show ladies girly bits all over the screen but somehow manage to conveniently cover the nether regions of male actors with some well placed plant. That's why it's always a shock when a real one randomly pops out.

Game of Thrones and Outlander are two current TV shows that seem to bare all without remorse. We should have more of that.

  • One hot man is good but hot two men.. just heaven!
    Why should I feel uncomfortable? o _ O

    • *two hot men lol

  • nah, renly and loras had some cute scenes in game of thrones. lesbian scenes r like... eh to me. i don't feel awkward, just turned off. my little sis doesn't like straight sex scenes so i guess it works both ways.

  • That is the last thing I want to watch...

  • I was conditioned to be repulsed by male-male sexual behavior, so I do get uncomfortable.

  • I started watching game of thrones a while back and that was the first time I saw a gay scene on a tv show. I was in shock because so many tv shows don't put gay relationships on tv because it pisses off the religious people and they might lose viewership. I had more respect for the GoT producers after that scene because nothing is off limits to them and they don't care if they piss off the religious people. Which I am always down to piss off religious people.

  • Well it doesn't bother me, I watched Orange is the New Black and there's a lot of girl on girl action there, I didn't mind it. My sister however comments "eww" every second lol Theyre people too, though I think im a homophobe sometimes..

    • I think it's natural to be uncomfortable with graphic scenes that aren't your preference. I don't think your homophobic I think it confirms you are homosexual.

    • nah... the thought of that just doesn't do much for me.

    • Which only backs up the fact you aren't a homosexual? I don't see the point you are arguing? I said you aren't into gays personally and your response was "yeah I ain't into gays" ?

  • I have had decades of being bi, so nothing bothers me, including porn, which can be a great turn on and enhance your love life.

  • I do not personally care but if there are children around I care because then I have to teach them proper values instead of letting the Left indoctrinate them into believing that perversions are okay.

  • I am not judgmental person. I am not against to any of them. But i feel uncomfortable while watching them. I seriously do not have any idea why.

  • I personally like shows with sex and language, it makes it more real. The thing is, I don't feel like gay scenes are relatable for most people. For me they tend to look awkward and unromantic.

It's not that there's anything wrong with them. It's just that most people aren't interested in the same sex so it's hard to understand the chemistry.

    • And my sister is a lesbian and she doesn't like straight sex scenes. So it goes both ways.

  • Honestly, I appreciate seeing gay/lesbian sex scenes. I feel like most people aren't used to seeing it, and it makes it harder for people who identify as gay/lesbian/etc.

  • Im a Christian and I do change or scroll to the next scene if I see it. I not one of those crazy people who believe in attacking these groups, I just don't follow it as a Christian.

  • I used to be uncomfortable with non-hetero sex scenes until recently. Now I can watch it as it is no big deal.

But not around young kids. Teens it is ok.

  • Watching any sex scene makes me soooo uncomfortable, mostly if I am watching it with fam.

  • it's fine with me. Hell i walk over a huge rainbow crossing everyday just to get to work! :)
