Have you ever had sex with a friend or acquaintance simply because you felt sorry for them?

By asking this question, I am not suggesting that anyone should engage in sympathy sex. I am merely asking, for discussion purposes, whether you have ever given or received sex from a friend simply because they felt sorry for you. Maybe they felt sorry because you were still a virgin at age 27. Maybe they felt sorry because you're really a great person but you look like the north end of a southbound mule.

I suspect most people have never done this. I haven't. I have never given anyone sex out of sympathy for them, and I don't think I ever received sex from someone simply because they felt sorry for me. If you have participated in this, can yo please comment on the circumstances and whether there were any long term consequences to having sympathy sex with a friend.

I'm not sure if it was sympathy sex but a good friend of mine had sex with me after i had a really bad breakup, I was really messed up and broken at that time so I don't know if she wanted to take advantage of that or she just wanted to make me feel better.

We're still really good friends to this day, I got in a relationship and she still didn't, no bad consequences yet.

Not had sympathy sex.
But have sex with my wife, knowing that the deprivation of sex can also cause depression. (To be honest, I enjoy sex too.)
When it comes to others, I'm a bit squeamish about getting into sexual relationship with anyone or everyone. That's because I see it as something more serious than shaking hands or sharing a cup of tea with!
To keep with my beliefs, I might be willing to give a woman a massage, hand or back or head or even body, if I felt she needed some relief. I'm not sure I could go all the way to sex (it goes against my beliefs), but could definitely help in some way. Especially if she needs it.
