Not necessarily, its more an expression of lust. Sex is perfectly possible without any love, it will still feel good and both and get their lust and desires fulfilled.

Simultaneously however you can express your love during the sex and it makes it 10 times better when its between a loving couple and its a moment of actual love sharing, bonding as well as all the pleasure.

So its more a matter if the people who are having sex love each other and put actual love in to it, not so much about the act of fucking.

It can be. If I love the person I'm having sex with, but I've had much of my sex with women I didn't love, so it isn't essential.
