I don't think I said that right. With all the arguments of trans and pronouns and whatever else is going on out there, those are all considered "gender topics" not "sex topics". Gender is the social or cultural way of debating the topic. I don't think sex would be up for debate because of the biology behind it

I tend to think they are the same. I feel like a lot of the gender fluidity presents more like personality traits than a sexual identity thing. Is a tomboy any less of a girl because she likes bugs? That’s how I hear a lot of these situations.

What I think is irrelevant as the dictionaries to which people appeal as "the authority" alter their definitions to fit the usage of those same people. So I might think of gender and sex as synonyms in the sense of male and female, but the dictionaries disagree at least in part.
