Revenge on the rapist?

I was date raped, it left me broken. My rapist only spent two weeks in jail because he was a minor. He was let out, due to lack of evidence. He lives less than a mile from me in a small town. He duck taped my hands, He tore out my hair, penetrated my mouth, vagina, and anus with his fist. All the while screaming at him to stop, I turn to the many minds on the internet. My question is this. What are the best ways to get back at him? Since the goverment will not give me justice.

    such a rape would do far too much damage for a slap on the wrist sentence, no matter his age. and he would have left a lot of dna behind (even one single skin cell of his on the duct tape is all you need).
    what you describe isn't what most people think of when they hear "rape." you describe the type of torture that could lead the victim to months long hospital stays, let alone the type of rape that, in its utter brutality, becomes a nation wide news piece.

    So I am calling bullshit.

  • If what you said was true, then why don't you spread awareness throughout your community. You should tell everyone he's a rapist, so that no one else will become his victim. This both accomplishes your goal by ruining his persona and won't get you in any legal trouble, except for possibly slander if u really don't have evidence.

    • I've been telling anyone who will listen, I keep a picture in my purse to show them what he looks like.

  • Erm... How the heck was there no evidence after such a violent assault? If I were you, I'd not only be seeking justice for that incident, but also for the morons who decided a girl with pulled out hair and sexual injuries wasn't raped.

  • Get some therapy with a good therapist. Forget revenge. It won't help. With some help, find a way to get past it and move on.

  • Revenge is a tough one. It generally leads to your own bad ending and the result is never fulfilling. The better, tougher road is to not forgive but do what you can to prevent it from happening again. You should do everything possible to let the world know that this guy is likely a future serial rapist if not murder. Do it for his next victim.

  • Revenge is not the answer. I know that you probably don't know what you're feeling or to think right now, but revenge almost always results in your own punishment somehow. I would suggest that you see a therapist if you can afford it.

  • Justice was done and the sentence was right. He shouldn't have been sent to jail. Regardless of how serious the crime is supposed to be, certain groups of people should be treated more leniently like minors, elderly and people with disabilities and nobody should have the right to say different especially as they don't know what they are talking about. Besides who gets two weeks for any crime. And half of what you say doesn't even sound true. I mean penetrating your mouth with his fist.
