They should be taken seriously, that's for sure. Should we automatically put a guy in jail when a woman says he raped her? Nope.

They shouldn't be automatically believed but they should be taken seriously. People need to stop taking sides at the beginning of a case. Anything other than being impartial is wrong in every way.
I believe they should have the benifit of a doubt that they are telling the truth. But I also believe that if it's found out that they made a false accusation the law should be slammed on them pretty hard.
Yes, of course. That doesn't mean the accused should be denied due process, but a person making a claim of violence against their person should always be believed until further investigation shows otherwise.

Except those statistics are provably false. They are a complete misrepresentation of the facts. They don't account for the fact that most of those are cases that are dropped by the accuser, lack of evidence etc. Those stats are based upon the assumption that women are always telling the truth in every single situation which itself is provably false (unless you believe that women are not human nor equal to men).

Well thats a straw man argument. At no point did I say rape didn't happen, I stated those statistics are false. 98% of rapist get away with it? So the courts, knowing the person is a rapist, being able to prove that the person is a rapist just let them go? Thats not how it works. What happens is people are accused and either evidence proves them guilty or it doesn't and many cases result in it being unprovable meaning they are at the very least neither guilty nor innocent they simply do not know. That is a far cry different then being a rapist. Further more it completey ignores the fact that women do falsify rape charges, their are rough estimates about it being about forty percent of accused rapes are false. Out of all accused rapist only 2% are provablly guilty. Again that is completely different then stating that every single person accused is absolutely a rapist, women cannot lie after all or be mistaken, and therefore every one of them found not guilty actually is.

And many of those would exonerate many men, so not a really good argument. Especailly when you claim that 98% of rapist go free then state that the tests are not being performed to see if some one was raped/is a rapist. Which one is it, is the evidence not being processed making it an unknown, or do we have absolute knowledge and are letting the people go? Your still having the issue of applying the term rapist to people who cannot be proven to have raped ergo cannot be determined to be rapist ie the statistics is wrong.

That is moronic. The evidence does not say that how the hell would you even come to that conclusion? Almost every high profile rape case in the US at least has been proven false, this despite the fact that no one believed it to be or continues to believe it. Its literally woman claimes rape, man accused of rape, every one believes he is a rapist, evidence proves he is not and she is lying, every one continues to believe she was raped and are disgusted that the "rapist" whent free. Every major case seems to follow this trend (from the UV rape case to the duke lacross players case) showing that what your saying is actually provably wrong, that no one dismisses a woman who claims rape and that we as a society are more then happy to believe her even when its clear that she is lying, even when its proved she is lying. Basicly, that is the most illogical claim you can make.

I recommend looking up what happened to Brian Banks. A man jailed for a rape accusation, until he was released after 6 years when the accuser eventually admitted the rape did not happen.

NO! Rape is a crime and should be treated as a crime but it needs to be proven that the man really did it. So that means the woman should not be automatically believed. However, she should be able to go to a safe house while the investigation is going on. Lots of women do get raped but there is also lots of women that lie about being raped as well. If a man has raped a woman he should be punished for it and go to jail. However, if a woman lies about being raped she should also go to jail. Women falsely accusing men of rape is very wrong as it destroys the man's reputation over something he did not do. Even when he has been proven innocent people still treat him like he did it. So no, women should not be automatically believed.
