True or false. When picking a girl out of a group for sex most guys pick the second least attractive?

Question

You're out with your mates and you spot a group of girls. From their clothes and general behaviour you deduce that they might be up for a bit fun. You decide to take your chance and approach them.

Now I've got a theory. If you go directly to the best looking one then the risk of rejection is the highest. You'll lose face in front of your friends. Other girls in the group then think you see them as a consolation prize and reject you.

The worst looking girl should be the easiest but there's the problem, you don't want to look like you don't have standards. Worse still if she knocks you back you know you've nowhere else to go.

Now second from bottom is a safe bet, they nearly always say yes. You flatter her by picking her over her better looking friends yet still show you have standards. And if she rejects you there's still a chance of recovery with the other girls.

So am I right?

one of the best episodes of The Big Bang Theory was Raj and Howard were trying to pick up Goth chicks at a bar.

The Winggirl was Sarah.. she was nice looking, but no one would notice her. Every time things would happen where her girlfriend would decide, Sarah said, "I'm Sarah, as if anyone cares".

and when the Hot girl left them to go home alone, Sarah said, "i am going now, too, as if anyone cares". If they guys had told her, "no stay, she would have gone home With them"

I know girls like this. They are good looking, while not the #1 girl in the group, but have bad self esteem, so they miss out on so much.

so, i would ask out these girls if you want to have fun with your mates. These girls are desperate for attention, but don't really know how to get it.

Just my two cents... and i was the #2 girl so many times, but I learned to ALWAYS respond Yes when asked out by guys, whether to dance, drink, or just attention. And did get some great sex when the Popular girl was still at the club.

I actually think that's a solid theory.

There's something else. If you're at a club or a dance, you can ask the second prettiest (#2) girl to dance. That might make the prettiest (#1) girl jealous or cause her to question if maybe she ISN'T the prettiest. After a dance with #2, you can go back and ask #1 to dance and you may have a better chance.
Even if she decides not to go for your advances, you have already had a chance to see if the first girl you danced with seemed interested. Or you can ask the #3 girl to dance and, instead of her feeling like she was merely a runner up, she might feel like you just wanted to dance with all of them. You might get your way with her or you can go back to #2 if she had initially seemed open to your advances. She won't feel like you rejected her initially because she might just feel like you were being a gentleman and giving them all equal time on the dance floor.

No, at least if you are going to attempt that situation at all. Usually the advice given to guys is to not approach the group at all. But, if you are going to approach the group the best strategy is this
Charm everyone... Come in strong and be nice. Become part of the group, and watch which one us giving the right signs that she's interested. Because a guy is prety flexible but women usually know within a few minutes if their interested in you. Now there are tactics to change that intrest that sometimes (almost always) work. But most guys simply don't know how.

I think your theory has considerable merit. I've never approached a group of girls but I do tend to gravitate towards ones who I think are less likely to reject me. But then there was that one time when a girl I met inspired the phrase "Way out of your league" and started flirting with me. I turned around to see who behind me she was talking to and she put her hand on my chest to let me know it was me. As it turned out I have a somewhat unusual physical trait that most people don't notice but she zeroed in on instantly and to her that was a huge turn on. I have slightly pointy ears. They were not quite pointy enough to catch ridicule when I was a kid but just barely enough for a Star Trek fanatic to notice and want to spend a weekend with me. Only thing was she insisted I wear a Star Fleet uniform in bed and do weird things with my eye brows. Anyway, she was fascinating.

The hot girl on the group normally can't cope with not being top of the pecking order so begins flirting to establish her rightful position. Actually there many reasons men PREFER second best, especially for long term commitment. Women tend too, and your a prime example of this, have way higher opinions of themselves than they could ever deserve. An average woman with limited ambitions is always in high demand because men want an easy stress free life with a loyal, if somewhat less exciting partner. Above average women want an easy life too but for most of them their strategy in life is to get as many things as they can done for them using their looks and if your their husband, that burden is gonna fall right in lap. And frankly, the sex is not really any better just because she a ten. Sex, like life is what you make it no matter who your with.

Nope. I play the long game. I'm just gonna talk to the whole group and see what comes of it. If I just need a lay, I can make a phone call, so I don't feel the need to "seal the deal" on the first night.
