If it had something to do with HPV it wouldn't surprise me, women's risk of cervical cancer goes up a lot with HPV, hence the development of the vaccines. Though they never researched much on prostate cancer in men since we don't have a pap to smear.

Nah, I doubt it. People have been doing oral sex for ages with no problems. I wanna say if throat cancer is on the rise, it could be because of other matters of sexual cleanliness in individual partners who have oral sex. And maybe also from the high rates of smoking and vaping that so many people do nowadays. You just ask. There really isn’t an easy way to raise the subject. Unfortunately, there isn’t an approved test for HPV for men or for the throat, at least not in the US.
There should be some emphasis on getting tested as much as you can if you’re promiscuous for sure. I sometimes worry that if I end up with someone who’s slept around I might get something. It won’t be fair.

It’s real and pretty brutal….. I am a survivor of it. And it doesn’t have to come from giving oral to a guy…it can be from giving oral to a female. It’s ultimately caused by HPV. It does seem that a relatively small percentage of people have adverse / permanent effects from HPV.
