What's more common: legitimate rape claims being dismissed or women lying about being raped?

Kinda a loaded question, but ok

Kudos to the woman who wrote this:
Should Women Who Make False Rape Accusations Be Subjected To Jail Time?

So here comes a man to put some perspective on this: it's far more likely that she's telling the truth.

It makes me wonder, how often does it actually happen, though.. never happened to me, nor have I ever been afraid that some woman is going to accuse me of rape... I figure, if you don't rape her, she's not going to accuse you.

Well, I can't say that for certain, and I have seen a question here that seems to be a woman trying to get back at a guy for giving him an std by accusing him of sexual assault.. so I guess it does happen..

Some guys are so afraid of this happening that they don't even want to meet women.. yikes eh? I have literally talked to dudes like that. 😥
... maybe just avoid women that are overly focused on rape and have reality problems. Like if they think that touching them on the arm is rape or a violation of their boundaries or sexual harassment, or something like that. I wouldn't trust a woman like that.. I think most women won't lie about being raped..

I've also seen a question that has a sweet innocent girl who thinks that she just has different tastes in sex, but is getting raped repeatedly, and all the guys are like hurr durr, you should do more for him.. and I gave those guys a piece of my mind (and hopefully changed theirs).

Awe this poor girl... 😥😥😥😥😥
Different tastes in sex, any advice?

  • They're both equally bad in my eyes.

  • I believe it's A, it better is and stays A

  • For all I know, it could be six of one and half a dozen of the other.
But my vote is based on my own personal experiences, having been raped twice by the age of 18, and not having been able to do anything about it is extremely demoralising as a woman let alone soul destroying!!
Not being able to prove that these people did things to you and have them come up in court as a 5 to 10% chance of success rate, is despicable!!
I can't stand this country for the morals and principles it stands for, and I never will!!
And as for all the women that do you cry rape, maybe they should actually go through it and then they'd be sorry!!
Not that I'd ever wish it upon them, but if they're going to do something like that they should experience it first - just to know how it can fuck your life up!! 💯

    • I agree, for all we know, it could be, but it seems like it's probably that more get dismissed. I hear a lot of stories from women like yours.. But aw. I don't agree that women who lie about being raped should be raped to show them what it's like.. I wouldn't wish that on anyone..

    • Instead, consider that thing that one woman was saying about making the woman who cried rape work with real victims/survivors wearing a sign that said she lied about rape. Also, I think it's important to point out, that a failed attempt to prove a rape is not proof that it was a lie.

  • Girls are lying just wanting 15 mins of fame and a hand out

  • legitimate rape claims being dismissed

  • i doubt they ever jus walk down a street and some masked guy jumps out and rape her... i doubt they ever actually get that kinda rape... the propper rape...
they jus say any little thing is rape... like... if a boyfriends having sex with her and he decides to sneakily stick it in her wrong hole without asking... she will say thats rape and take him to court, u see wht i mean?
they use any little small thing thats very slightly related to rape... and say that is is rape, they do that allloottt... i dont think any girls ever get legitamately actually raped... or if they do.. its pretty damn uncommon

    • I think you should really look into the definition of rape, from both the dictionary and in law. Rape that is commit by a stranger and violent is not “more real” than other kinds. If a woman’s partner purposely puts his penis in a part of her body she did not consent to—even if they were already having sex—that is rape: forced penetration without consent. It can be traumatizing.

    • @SimpleRhubarb have ur own retarded definitions all u want.,.. but in my opinion, thats not rape, i dont care what oxford dictionary says... to me rape is more tramautizing than jus a boyfriend sticking it in wrong hole, i dont give a fuck what the definition is, but whatever

    • @SimpleRhubarb what if he accidently puts it in wrong hole? is that rape too? fuck off, get real

  • Don't forget, they can 'change their mind' after the fact as well.
Don't stick your dick in BSC. LOL

  • Hard to know for sure which one happens more, but as far as I've seen/experienced, false accusations are common and the real thing is very rare.

Plus the statistics of arrests are very flawed since it counts as rape if she is under the influence of alcohol, but if the guy is under the influence then it doesn't count. The system is very sexist against men and very flawed.

  • I don't believe there's ANY way to accurately determine the answer.

  • I've seen this happen a few to many times. On the other side, while I've never been accused of rape, I had an ex spread stories I was beating her. Luckily, she attempted this in my hometown where im known. Specifically she was told " he would eat his own dick before he hit a woman". I feel horrible for the women that have the courage to come forward but I think the women that are lying and abusing the power the law gives them, should do the same time the guy would have done.

  • Probably legitimate claims being dismissed, but our system is set up so that it's innocent until proven guilty. However, women have lied and destroyed a man's reputation so that even if he does get off, he is marked for life.

  • Legit rape claims being ignored

  • The immense majority of women don't randomly lie about being rape. Its extremely rare for a woman to lie about something as sensitive as sexual assault. According to statistics only about 3% of sexual assault claims aren't true which means 97% are true.

    • Those statistics feel like they sound about right. Do you have a source?

    • I researched it on Google.

  • I say if people wouldn't lie more would be believed about being raped

  • Most guys will admit to sex, if it happened, when accused of rape. They will say it's consensual.

  • The whole definition of "rape" has become so controversial. Now if a women has intoxicated, but consensual sex with a man, wakes up the next morning and feels regret, she can have him charged with "rape" under California law.

    How fucked up is this?

    • Then a man should not have sex with a drunken woman. So easy

    • @kim45456 So they are both drunk, she is all over him, wanting to fuck, they both have a great time ---but in the AM she suddenly realizes she has a BF/Husband and has her fuck buddy charged with rape? This tells me women have the mentality of a child and need to be treated as such.

    • If both were drunken, then they raped each other hahaha

  • Raped = men

    • Usually

  • I'm in this shit now.

  • Where I'm from 22% of rape claims are false and that's pretty high

  • I'd say A.
But it don't think they're dismissed, rather unproven.
Rape is very difficult to prove, especially if the victim doesn't report it immediately, which is unfortunate but understandable.
