What's your opinion on sex strikes?

Whats your opinion on sex strikes?
Do you agree with the method? Are they effective?

For those who don't know, a sex strike is when people (usually women) withhold sex from their partners to achieve certain goals (for example to protest against pro-lifers).

  • I mean.. if they're upset and they're not in the mood to have sex then they don't have to. I wouldn't want to have sex with my partner if they were annoyed with me either.

    • True but please be open for discussion, to get down to the real cause (being annoyed has a deeper reason).

  • They don't happen in mature relationship between two grown ups. If you feel the need to use intimacy as blackmailing against your partner, there's something severely wrong with you and your relationship.

  • I think that would only create long term animosity

  • I only support it if it's like just to just go crazy at eachother when the time comes, and that is a good time

    • You're weird but I gave you thumbs up cause I think you might be on to something. lol

    • @JimmyQ It is not helping in any way. It is dumb to go on "sex-strike".

    • @roland77 I don't think you understood her point though I'll admit, it took me a while to get it. I believe she is talking about both participants agreeing to let the passion simmer a bit before reigniting the flame. Anyway, that was my take away from her post.

  • Sex isn't a reward or incentive and I think that's why people should stop treating it like one. If you wanna sex strike go nuts.

    • Yes, it is no reward. It is healthy to do so for both body and mind. It is intimacy and being with someone very close.

  • So they're basically admitting that sex is their greatest contribution to the relationship?

  • Ridiculous and manipulative. It doesn't solve any problem.

  • I don’t think they’re effective and honestly they’re really childish. There are so many other ways to come to a solution to an issue. I’d rather my partner understand where I’m coming from and chooses to compromise or side with me, rather than me force them into a solution.

  • The constitution garauntees the right to protest lol

    • Tell that to the 30 cats you were just awarded.

    • uh oh! jimmy is mad!

    • @JimmyQ 😸😸😸😸😸😸😸😸😸😸😸😸😸😸😸😸😸😸😸😸😸😸😸😸😸😸😸😸😸😸 yay me! I can now get millions of hits on youtube and host my own kitten bowl! Thanks jimmy! What a swell guy😏

  • I’ve never had one but it sounds stupid. Sounds like gaslighting. Manipulation in general usually isn’t a good sign in any relationship

  • I'd like to be with a girl who enjoys fulfilling my sexual needs. If she doesn't maybe we're not right for each other.

And as a adult you should be able to handle when someone has a different opinion than you. You should know that you're not allknowing and that it's very possible that someone else is more informed or has better ideas about a topic.
I used to be really interested in politics because I wanted to know how the world works but I stopped that.
I just don't like the negativity that it brings with itself. Like hearing about how the U. S. abuses their power in the WTO to flood countries with trash food from big companies like KFC etc. So these countries have to chose between having their economy destroyed or having their people killed by fast food.

Or another story I heard a long time ago where prison guards fiddled with the showers so they could pour as much hot water as they wanted to and then they'd lock prisoners in there to hear them scream and try and avoid the water pouring out from both sides. Until they left a guy in there for too long and boiled him alive.
I don't know how you can feel positive after hearing shit like this how exactly should this make me feel about the world we live in? But can I change anything about it? No. That's why I stopped caring about the news and I'm focusing on the things I can control and trying to make the best out of my situation with the people around me.

That's why I think it's a waste to do this over political issues. People don't change their minds when you try and force it on them anyway. I wouldn't want to be with someone who did this cause it makes me think that person is either ruled by their emotions toomuch and easily controled or they're just addicted to outrage and need something to be pissed off about or they won't be happy.

  • I know what they are, yeah. And they are usually done in third world countries, though I'm sure some more 'advanced' nations have probably done it too. I think it's kind of ridiculous because if any man wanted to he could strike back by just doing something like throw his wife out the house lol.

    • Then you hoes support traditional bullshit. That why women should work. Although in my country women would kill their spouses

  • Psychos do this.

  • It indicates a degree of separation in the relationship which may eventually prove fatal.

  • It shows they think more of politics than they do of you.

  • Guys need to just avoid women like that and avoid women who play any game at all. Women act so entitled nowadays cause they know there is an epidemic of desperate guys

  • As a political stunt? I'd express my complete dissatisfaction unless there was a prior agreement that it was OK.

  • It's immature.

  • Lol teriable idea who ever invented should be fuckfucked to orgasm reapatedly till it is 4goten

    • It is said: Fuck the crap out of her/him. ;-)
