Why are college girls so horny/thirsty?

I started college about a month and a half ago thinking I was gonna be ogling a bunch of girls all day and they would try to ignore thirsty guys. But so far, I've seen the opposite, nothing but girls checking out guys far more than the other way around, and a lot of times I catch them checking me out. I always thought girls were passive when showing interest but apparently it's far from the truth.
