I could write a book on this issue, and it's the basis of one off my often used realization to justify so many things. Don't worry, I'm not about to go on a rant, since a short summary is all that is needed.
The question proposed, actually answers that very question on its own. Since the same can be seen from a male perspective as we wonder why women have such strange views.
Men and women see things differently, and it is one of the many reasons that I find women fascinating and so interested in what they think. I often find that women can point out and provide insights into things that I miss, dismiss or find irrelevant. The fact that can generally justify it enough for me to accept it... makes a woman's perspective valuable to me.
In truth, we are not that different from each other. However, that slight difference makes for a rather large difference in our perspectives. We really have no Idea what it would be like to have been born and raised as the other gender, and it makes us see each other's perspective as strange.
To answer the question, I'm sure that you would think it a travesty... Simply because you can't and will never be able to see it from a males point of view. Just like I have to accept what a woman's perspective is on things, even if I have no clue why she sees things that way. I don't consider it to be a travesty, just reality.

Yeah. Thought process are slightly different based on gender. In my personal experience women are pricky about slightest thing when men mostly think on a bigger picture. That's only an example of a different thought process. Anyways I think the drawing that you have provided here is the thing that's at fault here. Sometimes, society should try to represent everything vividly. If not factions would form based on different views. And that's something is not dependent of gender.

Fun fact: In California, until a few years ago, the statutory rape law only referenced women (and not men) as victims. It was changed by a lawyer friend of mine who sued the state. Unfortunately, those laws are still unchanged in many other states.

Actually the age of an adult being 18 years or so is based on the Success rate of delivery of a child as far as I can remember. We all know females and males feel the urge to copulate far before the 18 age mark.
So, Biologically speaking there shouldn’t be anything wrong with that as long as both parties are ok with it.
However, legally speaking it the ability of reasoning of underage girls is considered less than average human standard (or so) and even when both sides agree upon the act, it is considered that underage girls can easily be taken over by emotions rather than reasoning and thus is not taken as something right. (It's something like they cannot express their approval before coming to the age)
Now what was your question again? I really didn’t get it. In my case I do feel affection towards girls starting from 15/16 years i guess (with proper physical and mental maturity). Before that I consider them as a kid and don't even look at them as someone of opposite gender.

I don't know about other guys points of view concerning the reason why but I do know that during my sex education in high school it was usually more risky for the female than it was for the male to have sex before a certain age. I don't think it has anything to do with the vagina as you claim people have mentioned in your post. From what I've been given to understand it's because the female is the one that bears the child and as far as reproduction goes their body will not be fully developed until at least age 18. That being said if a boy under that age has sex we don't run the risk of getting pregnant. in fact regardless of our age guys don't get pregnant at all. So as far as I can deduce the age restriction is for the safety of the mother and the unborn child. Regardless of physical attractiveness and personal choice. Obviously this age seems to vary for different nations and the reasons behind it seem to very as well. So unless you happen to be a biological expert on human anatomy and reproduction I wouldn't expect any expert opinions on this forum. Most people are more emotional than logical. 99% of people alive have the capability to think for themselves and make independent decisions and are capable of learning new information. However most people are not capable of checking their emotions at the door so to speak. In fact I would venture to say it's probably less than 10% of the world's population that have the ability to completely forgo emotion altogether by choice. Those that do possess this ability are usually referred to as sociopaths even though that may not always be the case. by definition a sociopath is a person that is incapable of feeling emotion, or is emotionally stunted do to a traumatic experience. That's not what I'm referring to. I'm referring to people who have so much complete and total control over their emotion that they are able to successfully suppress it completely at will and pick it back up later when they feel like it. These kinds of people are the people that will agree with you on this subject because they look at things from a complete and total logical perspective without being influenced by personal beliefs or emotions. However these types of people are few and far between so don't expect to get the majority here.
