Some people use Jude 1:7 (which says that the Sodomites "went after strange flesh") as evidence, but that verse actually contradicts that point. The Sodomites went after foreigners. This is consistent with Genesis 18:20 that says that there was a great outcry against Sodom. Were people crying out because the Sodomites are having consensual gay sex? No. Genesis 19 provides an illustration of the way that the Sodomites abused foreigners.
Two angels arrived at Lot's house, under the disguise of men. All the people in Sodom gathered outside the house, demanding for the angels to be let outside, so that the Sodomites could gang-rape them. Yes, the angels presented as male, but Lot was also male. Why did the Sodomites try to rape the angels, but not Lot? Because the angels were foreigners.
Ezekiel 16:49-50 says "Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good."
No reference to homosexuality. Some people say that "abomination" refers to homosexuality, but to me, it clearly refers to how they would commit GANG-RAPE, as illustrated in Genesis 19. I'm not denying that the Bible says male homosexual intercourse is a sin, but if you genuinely believe consensual homosexuality is a greater abomination than GANG-RAPE (whether homosexual or heterosexual), then I'm not sure you're worth arguing with.

I happen to believe God did destroy it because of homosexuals because these men wanted to have sex with angels and angels are male. I do not like when people try to take the bible out of context just because they want to be Christians and be able to support LGBT. It doesn't work that way.

Do I need to quote the other parts of the Old Testament that says men should not lay together and how the bible is against androgyny? Let's say you are right which I don't know if you are but even if it was rape in this case the bible is completely against homosexuals.
You're the one taking the bible out of context. There is literally not a single verse that supports the idea that the homosexual aspect of the crime was more abominable than the gang-rape aspect of the crime. Genesis 18:20 says there was a "great outcry against Sodom." Somehow I don't think people would be crying out against Sodom just because they have gay sex. I can, however, imagine people crying out against Sodom because they were gang-rapists.

Chapter 18 verse 22. "If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them." Chapter 20 verse 13.
LGBTQ is hardly references in the bible at all. There are gay relationships. King David was gay asf.

@TienShenhan Angels are male and yes they do have genitalia. In the Book of Enoch that goes along with the bible Fallen Angels mated with human women and had children who were giants known as the Nephilim. Goliath is one example.

It goes along with the bible. It is believed by most Christians. Have you not heard of the 33% bloodline? There are actually people in this world who are wealthy who believe that they have the blood of the fallen angels in them and come from the Nephilim bloodline.
I don't think it's legit. The Bible says organisms reproduce with their own kind. Angels and humans aren't of the same kind. I think "sons of God" in Genesis referred to a group of humans who were fallen from the faith

History has flip flopped around with this issue. Interpretations of the Bible generally coalesce with how society feels about certain issues at that time.

Not fully. Sodom wasn't destroyed because of homosexuality but in various other places in the Bible it's stated in no uncertain terms that the authors didn't support homosexuality. This is typically expressed through condemnation.

Sodom was destroyed for its immorality. The homosexuality and disregard for visitors were symptoms of the immortality. See Romans 1:18-32.
Lot may not have been raped by the Sodomites, but just after the story of the escape from Sodom. (Lot and his two daughters were the only survivors.) The Bible recorded that Lot’s own daughters took turns raping him. See Genesis 19:30-38.

Sodom was destroyed because the people were completely wicked. The angels would have spared the entire city if only ten righteous were within. They found only one, Lot. In the context, the homosexuality is incidental.

Ezekiel, was a better explanation. It was just one thing that they were doing it was their haughtiness and abomination in front of God. Homosexuality was only part of it. But it gives you a glimpse of their attitude when they went to lots house and wanted to have sex with the angels. Lot offered his daughters , but they didn't want women they were after the males.
So that was why God brought this distruction
I'm Roman Catholic. I was always told that it was homosexuality and I suspected it was bestiality or just odd things. But I never thought about the gang rape. It does make sense actually.
I do believe that God destroy that place due to many to many crimes happening and making other even worse and i also believe that they were just a gaint horde or rapist

So you have this list of possibilities: -homosexuality -robbing people -killing people -torturing people -raping people and you conclude the answer is homosexuality? I'd say all the other possibilities are far more abominable than consensual homosexuality, but that's just me.

But God doesn't discriminate against sins. All sin is bad and all sin can be forgiven. Whether you rape someone or be gay or lie or cheat or steal doesn't matter so much to God. Secondly, rape of women was a somewhat tolerated activity because if you raped a virgin you were to marry her. So i dont think people living in that time would have agreed with you that rape was just the most evil horrible thing ever.

Christians, Muslims, Jews, Palestinians, even African Nationals praise that homosexuality destroyed it. But it was themselves for falsely following what other people said was right. If u follow morals and dont kill... if u do right just keep living a good life. Some of the biggest bigots and racists I've met in my life were religious. I believe that living a good, healthy equally respectful life is more righteous than most who believe in god. I have friends who have done hard maximum security time and now days they take most joy in marriage and gardening... people who are religious judge than those who r not. It was sexual sin , homosexual sex acts , bi sex acts, orgies, and the like. It refers to adultery and sexual immorality. They did not have the term homosexual. It was destroyed for those reasons. The US will be destroyed for the same reasons in the near future.
