I used to have one at my last house, but I haven't gotten around to building a good anchor point for hooks at my current place.

The harness in that gif is attached to a door, but if you tried that with the doors of most bedrooms in the US, you'd destroy the door, because the vast majority of interior doors are hollow and flimsy. You really need some heavy duty hooks in the ceiling (into the joists!) to get the most out of the swing.

Oops 😬. When I was in school thinking about physical therapy, I was given opportunity to work in step-down unit in occupational and physical therapy. That’s some engineering, fixing, and case specific adaptability work. Those guys and gals were “creative” and mechanically inclined. I was like you after 3 months of listening to their weekend…and stories about the bottom third of their split-level etc…I spent lots of times with clients doing PT and incorporating the OT adaptations. About 45 minutes in shop a day was enough for me 🙀🙃

I had one (I think I sold it with a bunch of stuff when I moved house, if not it’s gathering dust).

if getting one it’s best to go for one with a good fixed anchors (more than one) and have the variable height attachment, this means you can raise or lower the swing easier and also adjust Centre of Gravity easier, which means more fun.

Lol! So it’s funny that you say that all about being pretty vanilla because I am finding myself to be fairly vanilla as well. but the swing has always looked like it must be wicked fun! Like I don’t know how much I would need it for strength assistance necessarily but more so for balance and keeping both parties safe. But on top of the safety it really just looks so fun!
